DFS Fantasy Football Week 15 Picks

Week 15 of the NFL season is here and it means Fantasy Football Playoff time in your season-long leagues. In DFS it means the NFL teams will be jockeying for playoff position or trying out young talent if your team is already eliminated from playoff contention. It is important to know which teams have a lot to play for and which are playing for the 2020 season. This will open up a lot of value in the DFS contests this week.

Each week I will provide my Cash Contest and Tournament Contest Strategies and my favorite picks for each game. The picks will be based on DraftKings scoring but the differences between DraftKings and FanDuel and are not much. The players listed should be good picks for each site.

Top Stacks for Week 15

Stacking is a great way gain an advantage in DFS. When you pair your QB with a WR or TE you will get double points when they hook up for a TD. If your QB throws 3 TDs to your WR you will likely take down your Tournament Contest. Here are the stacks I like for Week 4 base on value….

QB WR/RB/TE Stack Price Proj. Pts.
TEN Ryan Tannehill A.J. Brown $13,800

Jameis Winston Chris Godwin $16,600 38.4
HST DeShaun Watson DeAndre Hopkins $16,800

Jared Goff Robert Woods $12,300 34.9
DAL Dak Prescott Michael Gallup $14,600

Russell Wilson D.K. Metcalf $14,400 30.9
KC Patrick Mahomes Tyreek Hill $16,200

Kyler Murray Christian Kirk $13,700 31.2
CLV Baker Mayfield Jarvis Landry $15,100

Eli Manning Darius Slayton $13,100

DraftKings Cash Contest (50/50 and Doubleups) Picks

Quarterback: The best play at QB for Cash Contests is Ryan Tannehill. He has been on fire lately and now he faces the Texans’ 27th ranked pass defense in a must win game. The Texans vs. Titans game has the highest Over / Under (51 points) on the slate. I agree that this game should be a shootout. That means a high floor for Tannehill Sunday.

Other QBs I Like: DeShaun Watson, Baker Mayfield, Jimmy Garoppolo, Kyler Murray

Running Backs: I would love to play Christian McCaffrey in my Cash Contest lineup but he is too expensive. I am going to the other side of the field and playing Chris Carson. The knock on Carson has been that he had to split carries with Rashaad Penny. That is not the case anymore since Penny was placed on IR. The Panthers give up the most Fantasy Football points to the opposing RB so Carson will be the horse I will ride in my Cash Contests Sunday.

I am hoping that *Josh Jacobs does not play but if he starts he will be in my Cash Contest lineup. He has the best match up on the slate. The Jaguars are historically bad against the run right now. They let Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler score 56.7 DK points last week. Jacobs should be able to get at least half of that if he plays.

Other Cash Contest RBs I Like: Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, Leonard Fournette, Raheem Mostert, Patrick Laird

Wide Receivers: Robert Woods has been one of the best WRs over the last month and he should have another good game against the Cowboys Sunday. Woods has averaged 12 targets per game over the last month and he has turned that into an average of 22.7 DK points per contest. I will take 25 DK points for only $6,200.

Darius Slayton has taken over the top WR spot for the Giants. He has averaged 23.4 DK points over the last month. Now he gets to face the Dolphins’ 30th ranked defense. I expect Slayton to filet the fish for at least one long TD and score over 16 DK points again.

DeDe Westbrook is my favorite value play this week. D.J. Chark is likely out this week so that means Westbrook and Chris Conley will be the starting WRs. Westbrook has the higher floor because he is the possession WR and should see a lot of targets. The Raiders have the 28th ranked pass defense so the Jaguars should be able to move the ball through the air Sunday. That means a lot of points for Westbrook.

Other Cash Contest WR I Like: DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Godwin, D.J. Moore, Jarvis Landry, Allen Hurns, Danny Amendola, Chris Conley

Tight Ends: I thought about using one of the value TEs this week (Tyler Higbee, O.J. Howard or Ian Thomas) but I decided to take the FREE SQUARE and play Zach Ertz. The Eagles are down to scraps at the WR position so the passing game should funnel through Ertz Sunday. The Redskins will do their best to shut down the big TE but they have given up the 10th most points vs. the TE. I have no problem paying up for Ertz this week.

Other Cash Contest TE I Like: Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Tyler Higbee, Ian Thomas

FLEX Position: I like playing RBs in the Flex position in my Cash Contest and Raheem Mostert is severely underpriced this week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan named Mostert the starter and said he will continue to get the majority of the carries until he cools off. Mostert has averaged 25.6 DK points since he took over the RB position for the 49ers. He should post over 20 DK points against the Falcons defense.

Defense: I will play the Detroit D/ST in my Cash Contests. Jameis Winston has been a turnover machine this season and I expect the trend to continue at Ford Field. If Winston sits out this game because of his broken thumb, the match up gets even better.

Other Cash Contest Defenses I Like: New England, San Francisco, Kansas City

* If Josh Jacobs is out Sunday, we MUST have DeAndre Washington in our lineups. My new Cash Contest Lineup would be… QB. Ryan Tannehill, RB. Chris Carson, RB. Raheem Mostert, WR. Julian Edelman, WR. A.J. Brown, WR. Darius Slayton, TE. Zach Ertz, FL. DeAndre Washington, D. Detroit Lions.

DraftKings Tournament or Contest Picks

* I have two Tournament Contest lineups I really like this week. This lineup I like for multi-entry Tournament Contests and the lineup posted below for Single-Entry.

Tournament Stack: My stack will Jared Goff + Roberts Woods + Tyler Higbee and running it back with Michael Gallup on the Cowboys side. The Rams are trending up while the Cowboys are trending down. Goff has looked a lot like the QB he was last year over the last two weeks. The Cowboys defense has not been very good recently so I like Goff to throw for over 300 yards with 3 TDs. Most of that production going to his top two receivers (Robert Woods and Tyler Higbee). Amari Cooper will be shadowed by Jalen Ramsey so the Cowboys will throw a lot of passes to Gallup. He is the best play from the Dallas side.

Running Backs: I am playing Chris Carson and Raheem Mostert in my Cash Contest lineup and I like them in the Tournament Contest lineup too. They both have good matchups and they should easily return value Sunday.

Other Tournament RBs I Like: Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, Leonard Fournette, Todd Gurley, Phillip Lindsay, Patrick Laird

Wide Receivers: My top WR in my Tournament Contest lineup will be Julian Edelman. I expect DeAndre Hopkins and Chris Godwin to be the highest owned WRs so I will pivot to the safest option this week. The Patriots have no one to throw to except Edelman. The Patriots should destroy Cincinnati and Bill Belichick rarely takes his foot off the gas pedal (especially when his team in under investigation). Edelman should have a huge game in the Queen City.

Other Tournament WRs I Like: DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Godwin, D.J. Moore, Kenny Golladay, Jarvis Landry, Terry McLaurin, Allen Hurns, Danny Amendola, Chris Conley

Tight Ends: I am playing Zach Ertz at the TE position in both the Cash Contest and Tournament Contests this week. He has a good matchup vs. the Redskins and he should easily get 12+ targets Sunday.

Other Tournament TE I Like: Travis Kelce, George Kittle, O.J. Howard, Ian Thomas

FLEX Position: I usually do not play a TE in the Flex position but I need to save some salary and there are some good cheap TEs on this slate. Tyler Higbee has put together back-to-back great games with Gerald Everett out of the lineup. Everett is expected to be out again this week so that means Higbee is a great play. He has averaged 24.1 DK points over the last two weeks. I will use Higbee in my stack.

Defense: The Detroit D/ST will be may play in both Cash and Tournament Contest lineups this week. This is the time of year for giving and no team likes to give the ball to their opponent as much as the Buccaneers. The Lions are the best cheap option on the slate.

Other Cash Contest Defenses I Like:  Packers, Ravens, Browns, Chiefs

*SINGLE ENTRY CONTEST: QB. DeShaun Watson, RB. Chris Carson, RB. Raheem Mostert, WR. DeAndre Hopkins, WR. A.J. Brown, WR. Chris Conley, TE. O.J. Howard, FL. Phillip Lindsay, D. 49ers

FanDuel Contest Picks

Scoring for FanDuel is similar to DraftKings but there are some differences you need to know. FanDuel DOES NOT award 3 bonus points for 300-yard passers or 100-yards rushing / receiving. The game also awards ½ point per reception compared to 1 point on DraftKings. We need to focus more on players who can score touchdowns on FanDuel and less on players who catch a lot of passes. The scoring is not as tight as it is on Daftkings so it is easier to pay up at the QB and TE position. My lineups for the two sites will be similar but I will have to make some changes based on the scoring and prices for the players.

FanDuel does offer many different types of games. They Single Game where the MVP of your team scores 1.5X the points as the other players, SuperFlex where you can have 2 QBs and QuickPick games where you simply pick one player from each position. My picks will be based on the Full Roster and Main Slate because this is the most popular game to play on the site.

FanDuel Single-Entry Tournament or Cash Contest Picks

FanDuel Tournament Contest Picks

The players I selected on DK should work on FD because the difference in prices on the two sights is not that great.

Good Luck This Week!
