DFS Fantasy Football Week 4 Picks

Facebooktwitter

Week 4 of the NFL season is here and it is already off to a rocky start. The Titans vs. Steelers game has been postponed because of positive Covid 19 tests for the Titans team. Be sure players from this game are not in your DFS lineups. The rest of the slate is pretty good and it has some matchups that we should be able to exploit.

Each week I will provide my Cash Contest and Tournament Contest Strategies and my favorite picks for each game. The picks will be based on Draftkings scoring but the differences between DraftKings and FanDuel and are not much. The players listed should be good picks for each site.

* A lot changes in the NFL between Friday and Sunday. Be sure to check the NFL Forum on the FantasyRacingTips.com website Sunday morning to see if I updated the DFS lineups (If I make any changes I will post a message on my FB Page and Twitter account).

Top Stacks for Week 4

Stacking is a great way gain an advantage in DFS. When you pair your QB with a WR or TE you will get double points when they hook up for a TD. If your QB throws 3 TDs to your WR you will likely take down your Tournament Contest. Here are the stacks I like for Week 4 base on value….

The Single-Entry Tournament Stacks are the more popular stacks this week. These players will likely have high ownership but they are the most likely to score well Sunday. We can use these stacks in our Single-Entry Tournament Contests and find some contrarian picks to use with them.

The Multi-Entry Tournament Stacks will not be as popular but they are sneaky plays that should have a good chance of scoring well Sunday. We need to find an ownership advantage in our Multi-Entry Tournament Contests so playing these stacks makes the most sense.

DraftKings Cash Contest (50/50 and Doubleups) Picks

Quarterback: There are some good cheap options at QB this week but I am going to take the “FREE SQUARE.” Russell Wilson will be cooking fish this week. He has been on fire in 2020, with an average of 308.3 yards passing, 4.5 TDs and 30 yards rushing per game (36.3 DK Points Per game). Now he gets to face the Dolphin’s 8th worst pass defense. He should easily pass for 300 yards and 3 TDs Sunday.

Other Cash Contest QB I Like: Dak Prescott, Kyler Murray, DeShaun Watson, Ryan Fitzpatrick

Running Backs: I took the “FREE SQUARE” at QB and I will do the same at the RB Position. Alvin Kamara has been a beast this year since Drew Brees cannot throw the ball more than 5 yards. Kamara is 3rd in the NFL in receptions. That is insane for a RB. Like Russ, Kamara is averaging 36.6 DK Points per contests. That is 73 DK Points average from 2 players. The rest of the lineup does not need to do much if Kamara and Wilson just do what they have been doing all season.

My second RB will be James Robinson. He has been the best part of the Jaguars’ offense this season and he should see a lot of work vs. the Bengals second-worst run defense. Robinson is also a factor in the Jags passing game. He is averaging 21.6 DK Points per contest this season. Robinson should go over 20 DK Points again Sunday.

Other Cash Contest RBs I Like: Ezekiel Elliott, Delvin Cook, Kenyon Drake, Darrell Henderson Jr., David Robinson, Myles Gaskins

Wide Receivers: I spent a lot of salary at the QB and RB Positions so I need to find some value with my WRs. Tyler Boyd has the second-biggest mismatch of the week, according to Pro Football Focus. CB D.J. Hayden has been getting torched by slot WRs this year. He has given up catches on 94% of the passes thrown at him. Boyd is averaging 17.7 DK Points per contest this season. He should get over 20 DK Points in this game.

The Seattle vs. Miami game will likely get out of hand early with the Seahawks getting a huge lead. That would be good news for DeVante Parker. The Seahawks have the worst pass defense in the NFL and the Dolphins will have to throw the ball a lot. Parker should have his best game of the season against the Seahawks.

The Vikings are doing their best to suck just as much as the Seahawks at covering the pass. The Vikings are giving up nearly 300 yards passing a game. Brandin Cooks is underpriced this week. He should get open a lot against the Vikings young secondary. I will take the discount with Cooks Sunday.

Other Cash Contest WR I Like: DeAndre Hopkins, Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, Stephon Diggs, Robert Woods, D.J. Moore, Jarvis Landry, Hunter Renfrow

Tight Ends: I used Logan Thomas as my TE last week and he was OK. Thomas has a tough matchup this week against the Ravens but this is a volume play. The Washington Football Team is likely to be in a hole early in this game. That means a lot of passing and a lot of balls thrown to Thomas. I am just hope he can catch one of them for a TD.

Other Cash Contest TE I Like: Travis Kelce, Mike Gesicki, T.J. Hockerson, Mo-Alie Cox, Jordan Akins

FLEX Position: Mike Davis is no Christian McCaffrey but he is doing a pretty good job filling in for the No. 1 pick in Fantasy Football drafts. Davis is averaging 19.3 DK Points per contest since McCaffrey left the lineup. Most of this production has come from receptions. The Cardinals are going to score some points Sunday so the Panthers will be throwing even more passes to Davis. He has a high floor this week.

Defense: I punted the Defense Position last week with Jets and it worked out. I am doing the same this week with the Lions Defense/ST. I do not expect a lot from the Lions this week but I should not need them to do much if the rest of the lineup scores the way I predict they will. The Lions returned 3X’s value last week vs. the Cardinals. I am hoping they can do the same vs. the Saints.

Other Cash Contest Defenses I Like: Ravens, Buccaneers, Colts, Texans

DraftKings Tournament or Contest Picks

Tournament Stack: My stack this week will be for the Vikings vs. Texans game. The Texans got off to a slow start this season but that is what happens when you face the Chiefs, Ravens and Steelers in your first 3 games. This should be the coming out party for the Texans offense vs. the Vikings 30th ranked pass defense. I will use the DeShaun Watson – Brandon Cooks stack and running it back with Dalvin Cook. The Texans should score a lot of points through the air and the Vikings will do their best to run the ball with Cook to keep Watson on the sidelines. The game script favors this stack being successful Sunday.

Running Backs: I am not fading Alvin Kamara this week. He is just too good and the Saints keep force-feeding him the ball. Kamara should score over 30 DK Points vs. the Lions 30th ranked rush Defense. I doubt most people will pay up for two stud RBs so that could make this lineup a little more contrarian.

Other Tournament Contest RBs I Like: Ezekiel Elliott, James Robinson, Clyde Edwards0Helaire, Kenyon Drake, Joe Mixon, Darrell Henderson Jr., David Robinson, Myles Gaskins

Wide Receivers: I need a piece of the Seahawks offense in my lineup and I will get it with Tyler Lockett. Most of the Seahawks’ offense flowed through Lockett last week. He had 3 TDs and 40 DK Points. I am hoping the same thing happens Sunday.

I used Tyler Boyd in my Cash Contest lineup and I will have him in my Tournament Contest lineup too. He has a great matchup vs. the Jaguars defense. It also helps that his teams likes to throw the ball 50+ times a game. Boyd has proven that he is the go-to-WR for the Bengals this year.

Other Tournament WR I Like: DeAndre Hopkins, Michael Thomas, D.K. Metcalf, Stephon Diggs, Robert Mike Evans, Woods, Cooper Kupp, Will Fuller V., D.J. Moore, Jarvis Landry, Justin Jefferson, Hunter Renfrow, Andy Isabella, Preston Williams, Gabriel Davis, Damiere Byrd

Tight Ends: Jimmy Graham arrived in Chicago in his DeLorean with the clock set to 2014. Yes, Graham is a thing again. He had 10 targets last week with 2 TDs. He has been the most targeted TE in the redzone this year. Hopefully there is enough plutonium for the DeLorean to keep this Back to the Future experiment going.

Other Tournament TE I Like: Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, Tyler Higbee, Mike Gesicki, T.J. Hockerson, Mo-Alie Cox, Jordan Akins

FLEX Position: Week 4 is the “Zay Jones revenge game”. Jones was drafted by the Bills in 2017, but they quickly gave up on him and traded Jones to the Raiders. Now he gets his chance to face his old team. Jones will likely be starting because Henry Ruggs III and Byron Edwards are doubtful to play. I will take any team’s No. 1 WR for $3K.

Defense: I will pay up at the Defense Position in my Tournament Contest. The Buccaneers Defense/ST has been awesome the last two weeks. They scored 14 DK Points vs. the Panthers and 18 DK Points last week vs. the Broncos. Now they get to face a rookie QB at home. This should be another big game for the Buccaneers Defense/ST.

Other Defenses I Like: Ravens, L.A. Rams, Colts, Texans, Detroit

FanDuel Contest Picks

Scoring for FanDuel is similar to DraftKings but there are some differences you need to know. FanDuel DOES NOT award 3 bonus points for 300-yard passers or 100-yards rushing / receiving. The game also awards ½ point per reception compared to 1 point on DraftKings. We need to focus more on players who can score touchdowns on FanDuel and less on players who catch a lot of passes. The scoring is not as tight as it is on Daftkings so it is easier to pay up at the QB and TE position. My lineups for the two sites will be similar but I will have to make some changes based on the scoring and prices for the players.
