DFS Fantasy Football Week 4 Picks

The NFL is ready to kick off Week 4 of their 2023 schedule. The slate will be a bit different this week. The NFL will start their International Series when the Atlanta Falcons travel to Wembley Stadium in England to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The game starts at 9:30 a.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN+ (Yes, you have to stream the game. It will not be shown on Cable TV). I will provide Showdown picks for this game and Cash /Tournament Contest picks for the Main Slate this week.

RUSSELL WILSON ($5,800): I know this looks ugly, but I am playing Russell Wilson at the QB spot for my Cash Contest lineup. The Broncos have been horrible this year, but Wilson has been cooking. He is averaging more DK Points than Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Wilson should be able to light up the Bears Defense Sunday.

CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY ($9,200): I am not going to mess around with the RB Position in my Cash Contest lineup. I will pay up for the best player in Fantasy Football this year. McCaffrey is averaging 25.8 DK Points per game this year. He has scored a TD in 12 consecutive games. He needs a TD Sunday to break the 49ers record. I am sure the 49ers will get McCaffrey into the endzone Sunday.

D’ANDRE SWIFT ($5,700): Swift has played started two games for the Eagles this year and he has averaged 23.95 DK Points in those games. I know the match up vs. the Commanders is not ideal, but running behind Jason Kelce should be good enough for Swift to score 16+ DK Points Sunday. I will play the Kelce + Swift (Not Taylor) combination this week.

JA’MARR CHASE ($7,800): The Bengals Offense has been a mess this season, but the Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase combination started to click last week. Chase scored 29.1 DK Points on Monday Night Football vs. the Raiders. Now he gets to face the worst pass defense in the NFL (Titans). Chase should have another huge game Sunday.

PUKA NACUA ($6,700): Nacua was the talk of the NFL for the first two weeks of the season. He came back to Earth last week, but he was still able to score 12.2 DK Points. I am not sure Nacua will return to a 25 DK Points game, like he had in week’s 1 and 2, but he should be able to put up 15-18 DK Points Sunday. That is enough in a Cash Contest lineup.

JOSHUA PALMER ($4,000): Mike Williams is out for the year and Palmer should see a lot more targets in the Chargers’ Offense. The popular pickup in season-long leagues this week was Quentin Johnson. The rookie does not look ready to take on a heavy workload in the NFL yet. Palmer is one of the best values on the slate this week.

PAT FREIERMUTH ($3,400): The TE Position is not great on this slate. You can either pay up for T.J. Hockerson or Mark Andrews or save some salary and play a TE in the low $3K price range. I will take a chance with Freiermuth. He got going last week when he scored 13.1 DK Points vs. the Raiders. He should have a similar game this week vs. the Texans.

TANK DELL ($4,600): I plaid Dell last week as my “punt play” and he rewarded me with 28.5 DK Points for only $3,600. I will go back to Dell this week. The match up vs. the Steelers is no walk in the park, but the Texans are going to air it out. Dell should get 10+ targets again and easily return value for your Cash Contest lineup.

CLEVELAND BROWNS ($2,800): The Browns have looked like one of the best defenses in the NFL this season. I know the match up vs. the Ravens is tough, but they should not be priced under $3K. DE Myles Garrett will get enough sacks to make this pick work in Week 4.

TOURNAMENT STACK: I stacked the Chargers last week and I will go back to them this week. I will use JUSTIN HERBERT + JOSHUA PALMER stack this week. The Herbert to Keenan Allen stack has been the second-best stack this year (Behind Tua Tagovalioa +Tyreek Hill stack), but it will also be the most popular. I will pivot to the much cheaper Palmer. I expect Palmer to have a really good game against the Raiders pass defense.

CHRISTAIN MCCAFFREY ($9,200): McCaffrey has been the cheat code in DFS this year. No one has stopped him this year and teams have had a hard time slowing CMC down. This is a big game for McCaffrey. The 49ers want him to extend his consecutive games with a TD streak. He will get it and there is nothing the Cardinals can do to stop it.

TONY POLLARD ($7,800): The Cowboys let a lot of people down last week (me included) with their dud in the desert. I will go back to Pollard this week vs. the Patriots. The Cowboys have to be an angry team, ready to take their frustrations out on the Patriots. I expect Pollard to score over 20 DK Points Sunday.

MARVIN MIMS ($3,900): Mims has been a big play machine this year. Do you really think the Bears Defense will prevent Russell Wilson from hitting Mims with at least one TD pass Sunday? I don’t. Mims is averaging 20 DK Points over his last two games. He should make it three in a row Sunday.

TANK DELL ($4,600): I have Dell in my Cash Contest lineup and I will use him in my Tournament Contest too. As long as the Texans continue to throw the ball 40 times a game, Dell will have a lot of value in Fantasy Football. He will probably be higher owned then I would like, but I will eat the chalk with Dell.

JAKE FERGUSON ($3,500): The Patriots love to try and take away the opposing team’s No. 1 WR. That means Ceedee Lamb is going to get a lot of attention. More passes should get funneled to Ferguson Sunday. He is the No. 1 option for the Cowboys whenever they get inside the redzone too. I will take my chances with Ferguson against the Patriots.

BRANDON AIYUK ($6,200): Deebo Samuel went off for 28 DK Points last week with Aiyuk out of the lineup. Aiyuk is healthy and ready to return and now it looks like Samuel may miss Sunday’s game. Now it is Aiyuk’s turn to go off for over 25 DK Points. He is a great play for only $6,200.

CLEVELAND DEFENSE/ST ($2,800): The Browns Defense will be my play in both lineups this week. They are just too cheap to pass up. Especially with the Ravens missing half of their WR core this week.

Scoring for FanDuel is similar to DraftKings but there are some differences you need to know. FanDuel DOES NOT award 3 bonus points for 300-yard passers or 100-yards rushing / receiving. The game also awards ½ point per reception compared to 1 point on DraftKings. We need to focus more on players who can score touchdowns on FanDuel and less on players who catch a lot of passes. The scoring is not as tight as it is on Daftkings so it is easier to pay up at the QB and TE position. My lineups for the two sites will be similar but I will have to make some changes based on the scoring and prices for the players.

Wagering on the NFL is legal in many states now. I will include my top-three picks for the NFL each week. I have a lot more experience playing Fantasy Football, but I started to have some success in beating the books last year. I also know a lot of people in Las Vegas from my seven years living in the city. They will give me some advice and I will share it with you.

The Jags know how to play overseas as well as any team in the NFL. Desmond Ritter is one of the worst QB’s on the road. The Jags are pretty good at stopping the run and that is all the Falcons can do. I will take the home team in England.

– The Vikings have more talent but they find ways to keep games close or lose them outright. 4 ½ points is too much, so I will take the Panthers.

The Jets are not scoring over 10 points. Do you think the Jets can hold Patrick Mahomes under 20 points? I don’t think so.

(Season Record: 5-4)

Hockenson has caught at least 7 passes in every game this year. His over receptions prop is 10-2 since he was traded to the Vikings.

(Season Prop Record: 2-0)

Good Luck This Week!
