DFS Golf Ryder Cup Picks

The most anticipated event of the year is finally here. The best golfers in the world have been competing for a spot on the Ryder Cup teams. This is an event that matches the United States vs. the Europeans. The tournament will be played at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome Italy. The course is a par-71 which plays 7,181 yard in length. Some of the golfers have referred to the course as a match play masterpiece, because of its risk vs. reward setup. This is going to be fun to watch.

I wasn’t planning on making picks for this tournament because it is so tough to predict. I could not sit this one out though. The key to winning your DFS tournaments this week comes down to having the golfers who play a lot and hope they can win a couple of matches. We do not know who Captains Zach Johnson (Team USA) and Luke Donald (Team Europe) plan to play in each round. We simply need to pick the golfers who we think will get on the course a lot and hope the two captains agree.

Match-play events often turn into putting contests. This highly favors Team USA, because they have some of the best putters in the world. The Americans have not won the Ryder Cup on European soil in 31 years. The two best golfers in the world right now are Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland (both European). So, will the chemistry that Team USA has and their hot putting win this week, or will the Europeans be able to defend their home soil once again with the two best players in the world? This one should be close, but my money in on the Americans ending the drought.

One way we can get an advantage in our DFS Contest is by stacking. We know Patrick Cantlay and Xavier Schauffele are going to play together a lot this weekend. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth have had a lot of success together in the Ryder Cup, so they should be paired together too. The Europeans have been talking about the “Fleetwood Mac” group. This includes Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy. They will be the top stack for the Europeans.

Here are the picks for the 44th edition of the Ryder Cup…

Good luck this week!
