DFS MNF Showdown Picks Week 2 – Fantasy Racing Tips

The NFL has a double-header scheduled for Monday Night Football this week. Actually, there will be double-headers on Monday Night Football in Weeks 2 and 3. The Saints vs. Panthers will be at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN and the Browns vs. Steelers will be at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC. Both games are not screaming “Must See TV”, but at least it is football and not the Bachelor.

The picks for Monday Night Football be a bit different this week. I will breakdown what I expect in the games, provide my Cash /Tournament Picks for the Showdown Contests and then provide my picks for the full two-game slate.

Here are my picks for the Monday Night Football Showdown slate…

SAINTS vs. PANTHERS

The players from the Saints are the players I will be targeting in the two-game slate and I like them in their Showdown Slate too. DEREK CARR passed for 305 yards and a TD last week vs. the Titans (18.6 DK Points). He is a good choice for the Captain Position and Carr will be my highest owned played tonight…. CHRIS OLAVE has a great matchup tonight with CB Jaycee Horn out of the lineup. Olave will be used in some of my Captain Poisition and I will have him in most of my lineups…. Jamaal got off to a slow start in Week 1, but he should bounce-back tonight. The Falcons ran all over the Panthers last week. I expect the same with Williams…. Other players I like for the Saints include MICHAEL THOMAS, RASHID SHEEHEED, JUWAN JOHNSON and the SAINTS DEFENSE/ST.

Carolina is going to have a tough time moving the ball tonight. The Saints defense is pretty good. BRYCE YOUNG threw it 38 times in Week 1. He will likely throw it a lot tonight. I will have some shares of Young tonight, simply based on volume… MILES SANDERS played pretty good in Week 1, but I am going to temper my expectations for the match up vs. the Saints. I will have some shares of Sanders, but he is not going to be one of my highly owned players… HAYDEN HURST was the go-to-WR for the Panthers in Week 1. I expect the same tonight. Hurst will be my most highly owned player from the Panthers tonight… The best cheap plays from the Panthers will be JONATHAN MINGO and TERRANCE MARSHALL. Both will be good plays, especially if D.J. Chark sits out tonight’s game.

BROWNS vs. STEELERS

The Browns vs. Steelers game should be a defensive match up. Both teams have their top WR’s out tonight (Amari Cooper and Diontae Johnson). The Browns won an ugly game in Week 1 vs. the Bengals. They will have to win an ugly game again tonight. NICK CHUBB is the best choice from this game in Showdown Slates and he should be played in the two-game slate too. Do not try to be cute and fade Chubb…. DESHAUN WATSON will likely struggle tonight, but he can still be played in the FLEX in Showdown Contests and he will be the second-best QB for the two game slate…. ELIJAH MOORE has a lot of value is Cooper is out. I will use Moore in the Flex in Cash and Tournament Contests, but I will pivot to DONOVAN PEOPLES-JONES in Tournament Contest…. DAVID NJOKU is always in play for the Browns, but I think he is over-priced tonight. I will have some shares, but I like the WRs more for the Browns…. DUSTIN HOPKINS will likely be in my Cash Contest lineup for the Showdown Slate. There will likely be more FGs then TDs in this game…. JEROME FORD is a decent “punt play” for the Browns.

The Steelers Offense was shut down by the 49ers in Week 1. They have another tough match up vs. the Browns. KENNY PICKETT is a decent play in the FLEX in Showdown Contests, but I do not expect a big game from Pickett…. As good as the Browns Defense looked last week vs. the Bengals, they did have a flaw. They missed the third-most tackles in Week 1. NAJEE HARRIS should be in play tonight if the Browns continue to miss tackles. I will take a chance with Harris tonight…. I know GEORGE PICKENS is going to be the highest-owned WR for the Steelers tonight. I do not think he should be. I will fade Pickens and pivot to ALLEN ROBINSON II and CALVIN AUSTIN III. They combined for 11 receptions for 101 yards in Week 1. I think these two WRs will be busy tonight… PAT FRIERMUTH got banged up last week, but he should be good-to-go tonight. He is a TD dependent TE, but I will take a chance with him….JAYLEN WARREN is a good cheap play for the Steelers tonight.
