The double-headers on Monday Night Football are complete. This week there is only one game on ABC/ESPN. The 2-1 Seattle Seahawks travel to New York to take on the 1-2 Giants. The Seahawks are 1 ½ point favorite and the Over/Under is 47 ½ points. This should be a close game with both teams scoring over 20 points. That is a good receipe for a good Showdown Slate.
Here are my picks for the Monday Night Football Showdown slate…
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS PICKS
The best options for the Captain Position from the Seahawks side of the ball are GENO SMITH and KENETH WALKER III. I like Smith for Cash Contests and Walker for Tournament contests. The Giants Defense ranks 17th against the pass and Smith is averaging 245 yards passing and 1.5 TDs per game. The Giants also rank 17th versus the run and Walker is averaging 74 yards and 1 TD per game. This should be a good game for both players.
D.K. METCALF and TYLER LOCKETT are both solid plays tonight. Metcalf has a better match up according to Pro Football Focus and he is the safer play. Lockett has been a boom or bust player his entire career. He is a good play for Tournament Contests. It will be tough to get both WRs into a lineup with fading a QB.
NOAH FANT will be a good play “if” he suites up. Fant is averaging 8.85 DK Points in his last two games. That is not bad for his price tag…. If Fant or WILL DISLEY are out tonight, COLBY PARKINSON will be a good “punt play”.
NEW YORK GIANTS PICKS
The Seahawks pass defense has been the weakness of their team, so we want to target the Giants passing game. DANIEL JONES had one good game and two complete duds this year. He should have a good game on Monday Night Football. I like Jones as a Flex Position play in both Cash and Tournament Contests.
I am fading the Giants running game. SAQUAN BARKLEY is not going to play and MATT BRIEDA is priced to high for his talent. I will focus my picks on the Giants receivers.
The Seahawks rank dead last in the NFL at covering the slot receivers. This makes DARREN WALLER, ISAIAH HODGINS, PARIS CAMPBELL, WAN’DALE MOORE and DARIUS SLAYTON all good plays tonight. WALLER will be a lock for most of my lineups. The Giants rotate there WRs too much to completely trust one of them. I will sprinkle in shares of each WR into my lineups tonight. JALIN HYATT is my favorite “punt play” for the Giants. He is the deep threat and it only takes one long catch for Hyatt to return value.
