DFS Picks for NFL Week 16

Facebooktwitter

The NFL regular season is quickly coming to an end. Most Fantasy Football leagues are a week away from crowning a champion. It is also that time of year when the College Football regular season is complete and the NFL begins to play games on Saturday. We have two of them this week. The Philadelphia Eagles play the Washington Commanders at 5 p.m. ET on Fox and the Green Bay Packers play the Chicago Bears at 8:20 p.m. ET on Fox. I will have the Showdown picks for both of these games below, along with the regular picks for this weekend.

Here are my picks for the NFL Week 16….

* I will post updated picks if Josh Jacobs is ruled out.

DRAFTKINGS NFL CASH CONTEST

QUARTERBACK: JACOBY BRISSETT has been my QB in most of my Cash Contest lineups six Week 6. I took a break from using Brissett last week since the Cardinals were playing the No. 1 defense in the NFL (Houston). Brissett proved that he is matchup proof when he scored 21.6 DK Points vs. the Texans. Brissett has scored at least 20 DK Points in every game he has started this year. That gives him one of the highest floors at the QB Position. I will play Brissett, take my 20 DK Points and move onto the rest of my lineup.

RUNNINGBACKS: De’Von Achane is a fine play at the RB Position, but I will save some salary and pivot to BIJAN ROBINSON. I expect some fireworks in the Falcons vs. Cardinals game. Robinson 30+ DK Points in three of his last six games. The Cardinals have given up the fourth-most DK Points to the RB Position, so Robinson should score over 30 DK Points again Sunday… The Steelers vs. Lions game has the highest Over/Under on the slate (51.5 Points). JAHMYR GIBBS will score a lot of DK Points if these two teams score as many points as the experts in the desert thing they will. I like Gibbs at home, in the dome against the Steelers this week.

WIDE RECEIVERS: D.K. METCALF is a beast. I know it and so does Aaron Rodgers. They way he threw the Dolphins defender out of the way to score a TD on Monday Night Football last week was incredible. The Lions have given up the second-most DK Points to the WR Position this year. They are going to have a tough time stopping Metcalf Sunday… JALEN COKER has been a good punt play at the WR Position over the last five weeks. The Panthers still have a lot to play for, so they will keep their foot on the gas pedal. Coker has averaged 12.45 DK Points over his last four games. He should return value at his cheap price in Week 16…. The four best plays on this slate are De’Von Achane, Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs and James Cook III. I want three of them in my lineup, so I need to save some salary somewhere. Hello Mr. ISAIAH BOND. He accounted for half of Shedeur Sanders’ passing yards last week. Can he do it again? I am not so sure, but for $3K, I am willing to find out. The Browns are going to throw it a lot in order to keep up with the Bills. I just need Bond to catch three passes for 30 yards and this week work out fine.

TIGHT END: I have been attacking the Bengals Defense with my pick at the TE Position and it has worked out great. Why stop now? DARREN WALLER has been one of the surprises this year at the TE Position. He scored 25.6 DK Points last week vs. the Steelers. He has a good chance to do it again Sunday vs. the Bengals.

FLEX POSITION: When people think of the Bills, they think of Josh Allen. Their offense has run through JAMES COOK III this year, just as much as it has relied on Allen. The Bills may not need Allen to turn into Superman vs. the Browns. They will likely feed the ball to Cook, take the win and focus on the Eagles next week.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: I usually do not stack my RB + Defense/ST in my Cash Contest lineup, but I will in Week 16. James Cook III has a great chance to score 25+ DK Points vs. the Browns and the BILLS DEFENSE/ST has a great chance to score a lot of points too. The Bills are favored by 10.5. I expect the Bills to try and put the Browns away quickly and that means a lot of blitzing Shedeur Sanders and forcing him to throw some INTS.

DRAFTKINGS NFL TOURNAMENT CONTEST

TOURNAMENT STACK: I like to stack those games that fly under the radar. The Buccaneers vs. Panthers is one of those games. Both teams have a lot to play for. Both teams have struggled on defense and both teams have offenses that are capable of scoring a lot of points. For that reason, I will stack BRYCE YOUNG + JALEN COKER and run it back with MIKE EVANS. Young just threw for 448 yards and 3 TDs vs. the Falcons a few weeks ago. The Bucs rank 30th against the pass and they have given up the second-most DK Points to the QB Position this year. It is hard to trust Young, but this should be a game where he blows up again…. Evans went off for 22.2 DK Points in his return to the Bucs last week. He should have a similar game Sunday vs. the Panthers.

RUNNINGBACKS: I will pay up for DE’VON ACHANE in my Tournament Contest lineup in Week 16. He has been a beast in the second-half of the season. The matchup vs. the Bengals Defense could not get any better. The Bengals have given up the most DK Points and the most explosive plays to the RB Position this year. Achane has a good chance to blow up the slate Sunday, so I need to have him in my lineup… I am going to save some salary and take a chance with AUDRIC ESTIME Sunday. Devin Neal and Alvin Kamara have been ruled out. Estime will be the workhorse for the Saints Sunday. The matchup vs. the Jets 30th-ranked run defense is just too good to pass up for only $5K Sunday.

WIDE RECEIVERS: I really wanted to play CHRIS OLAVE in my Cash Contest lineup, but I could not fit him in with the three stud RBs. I will use Olave in my Tournament Contest lineup this week. He should see a lot of targets with WR DeVaughn Vele out of the lineup. I would not be surprised if Olave was the top WR on the slate Sunday.

FLEX POSITION: Everyone is going to play Darren Waller at the TE Position. I thought about pairing Waller with the Bills Defense/ST, but I will take a chance with DAWSON KNOX and the Texans Defense/ST. Knox has turned back the clock five years and he has been a big piece of the Bills offense. Knox scored 17.3 DK Points in Week 14, 18.7 DK Points in Week 15 and he should score well again in Week 16.

RB + DEFENSE/ST: The best RB + DEFENSE/ST stack on the slate is WOODY MARKS + TEXANS DEFENSE/ST. Marks has taken over the RB Position for the Texans. They are 14.5 Point favorites, so the Texans should run the ball a lot with Marks Sunday. I do not see how the Raiders can score any points vs. the Texans Defense. They could easily score 20+ DK Points Sunday.
