DFS Picks for NFL Week 6

Facebooktwitter

The NFL heads into Week 6 and that means the season is already 1/3 complete. That is crazy. It feels like I was just completing my Fantasy Football draft a week or two ago. This time of year always goes by quickly, because football season is so fun.

The Cash Contest Lineup continues to crush it every week. I will do my best to keep that lineup returning double your entry fee each week. I do need to get the Tournament Contest Lineup going. The picks have not been bad, but there seems to be one game that breaks the slate each week. It was the Buccaneers vs. Seattle game in Week 5. I will do my best to try and find that game in Week 6.

Here are my picks for the NFL Week 6….

DRAFTKINGS NFL CASH CONTEST

QUARTERBACK: I know it isn’t pretty, but I will use BRYCE YOUNG as my QB for the Cash Contest lineup. Sometimes you need to look past the name on the jersey and simply look at the stats. Young is averaging nine more DK Points at home and now he gets to face the worst defense in the NFL. The Cowboys vs. Panthers game has the highest Over/Under (49.5 Points) on the slate and the Panthers have an implied total 23.5 Points. Young should easily return value on his cheap price this week.

RUNNINGBACKS: I have been playing Christian McCaffrey every week in my Cash Contest lineup, but this week I like KYREN WILLIAMS vs. the second worst run defense (Baltimore) more than I like CMC vs. the Buccaneers. Williams exploded last week on Thursday Night Football for 32.1 DK Points. He may do it again in Week 6…. The 49ers vs. Bucs game could be the highest scoring on the slate. I will get a piece of that game with RACHAARD WHITE. We got to see what White could do without Bucky Irving in the lineup. He scored 23.1 DK Points last week vs. the Seahawks and White should do the same Sunday vs. the 49ers.

WIDE RECEIVERS: I am paying up at the WR Position this week. PUKA NUCUA would likely be the No. 1 pick in Fantasy Drafts is your were to redraft this week. He is averaging 28.6 DK Points per game. That is the best in Fantasy Football. Nucua should explode once again this week vs. the Ravens 31st ranked pass defense… I have the No. 1 WR in Fantasy Football in my lineup, so why not add the No. 2 WR to team? JAXSON SMITH-NJIGBA has been a monster this year. He is averaging 21.7 DK Points per game. Now he gets to face the Jaguars’ 23rd ranked pass defense. JSN should score over 20 DK Points again Sunday… It is crazy that we can get the WR who has the second-most targets in the NFL this year for $5,100. The Saints have thrown the ball to CHRIS OLAVE 54 times this year. The only player who has seen more targets is Puka Nacua (62). Volume is king in DFS, so I will play Olave in my Cash Contest lineup.

TIGHT END: JAKE FERGUSON has been the No. 1 TE in Fantasy Football this year and he gets to face the third-worst team at covering the TE Position. Ferguson leads all TE’s with 48 targets. He also has 12 more receptions than any other TE in the NFL. Ferguson should be busy once again Sunday and should be the highest scoring TE on the slate.

FLEX POSITION: I typically do not play a TE in the FLEX Position in my Cash Contest lineup, but we typically do not get a TE who received 11 targets for only $3,700. JAKE TONGES will once again be filling in for George Kittle. Tonges has averaged 16 DK Points per game with Kittle out of the lineup. That is 4X’s value at the FLEX Position. That is just too good to pass up this week.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: The BROWNS DEFENSE/ST is really good. They are usually underpriced in DFS because the team is not that good. I expect the Browns to get a lot of sacks vs. a QB who cannot move (Aaron Rodgers). I also expect a few turnovers too. The Browns Defense/ST is the best value on the slate this week.

DRAFTKINGS NFL TOURNAMENT CONTEST

TOURNAMENT STACK: San Francisco 49ers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game has an Over/Under of 47.5. That is second-highest on the slate. We saw the Bucs get into a shootout last week with the Seahawks (The two teams combined for 73 points). It could happen again with the 49ers vs. Bucs, so I will stack MAC JONES + CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY + KENDRICK BOURNE. Jones looks better than Brock Purdy and his connection with Bourne really worked well last week vs. the Rams. The Jones + Bourne stack combined for 52.4 DK Points. I expect them to go off again Sunday. McCaffrey is the second-highest scoring RB in Fantasy Football. I do not need to write much about CMC…. I will bring back the stack with EMEKA EGBUKA. He has not only been the best rookie WR in the NFL; he is also a top-five WR in the NFL. Egbuka should score over 20 DK Points in this game.

RUNNINGBACKS: I just cannot believe how cheap KYREN WILLIAMS is this week. He has been one of the best RB in Fantasy Football and now he gets his easiest match-up of the season. I know Williams will be popular, but I cannot fade him at $6,300 Sunday.

WIDE RECEIVERS: D.K. METCALF is a boom or bust WR in Fantasy Football. He has a good chance to go off vs. the jetlagged Browns team. Cleveland is the first team in NFL History to play overseas and then have a road game vs. a team coming off their bye. I have a feeling the Steelers are going to steamroll the Browns and Metcalf will be a big part of the passing game.

TIGHT END: Did the Seahawks find something in A.J. BARNER. He has scored four TDs in his last four games. Barner caught all seven of his targets last week for 53 yards, two TDs and 24.3 DK Points. The Seahawks vs. Jags game could be a shoutout and Barner has a good chance to be a good pick at the TE Position with low ownership.

FLEX POSITION: I typically stack a RB + DEFENSE/ST in my Tournament Contest lineup, but I did not see any stacks that I liked this week. Instead, I will play RICO DOWDLE in the FLEX Position. Am I chasing last week’s points with this pick? Maybe, but it is hard to ignore the volume that Dowdle received in the Panthers Offense with Chubba Hubbard out of the lineup. Dowdle had 23 carries and 4 targets in the game vs. Miami. He turned that into 35.4 DK Points. Dowdle should score 20+ DK Points if he gets the same workload vs. the Cowboys 27th ranked run defense.

DEFENSE ST STACK: I will punt the DEFENSE/ST Position this week and take a chance with the TITANS DEFENSE/ST. They are not very good, but do you know who else is not very good….? The Las Vegas Raiders. The Colts Defense/ST scored 17 DK Points vs. the Raiders last week. I only need half of those points to make the Titans a good pick for the Tournament Contest lineup.
