The NASCAR O’Reilly Series will join the Cup Series at Iowa Speedway. The O’Reilly Series only has two races left on their regular season schedule. They race this week in Iowa and they are off until the end of August for the final regular season race at Daytona International Speedway. This should be a great race, because the teams know this is their last chance to make a push for a playoff position. The HyVee Perks 250 can be seen Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on CW Channel.
FANTASY STATS FOR IOWA
Iowa Speedway is a .875-mile, flat track. It was designed by Rusty Wallace to race like Richmond Raceway. The best way to handicap the race today is to look at the stats from the last two races at Iowa Speedway and the races this year at Phoenix and Nashville. This should give us a good idea of which drivers run well on tracks similar to Iowa Speedway.
Here are the stats from the last year’s races at Iowa Speedway and similar tracks over the last year, sorted by DraftKings Points….

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The O’Reilly Series had a 50-minute practice session to dial in their cars for this evening’s race and then the teams lined up for single-lap qualifying. Iowa Speedway is a smaller track so most of the teams were able to make at least one long run in practice. The best way to find the fast drivers for your DraftKings lineup is to look at the drivers who had speed on the single-lap speed chart, the 10-lap speed chart and qualified up front. Track position is important at Iowa Speedway.

DRIVER RANKINGS FOR IOWA

STRATEGY FOR IOWA
This race is scheduled for 250 laps (218 Miles). That means there are 62.5 points available for leading laps and 112.5 points available for fastest laps (175 dominator points). The trend at Iowa Speedway is for one driver to lead roughly 130 laps and score 50 fastest laps (55 dominator points). Another driver leads roughly 48 laps and scores 18 fastest laps (19.6 dominator points). A third driver leads roughly 35 laps and scores 20 fastest laps (17.75 dominator points). We are going to need these three drivers in our lineups today. I plan to pay up for the driver who I think can lead the most laps. We probably will not win our contest without the 92 dominator points that they are projected to score.
WINNING LINEUPS AT IOWA (2024-2025)

Sam Mayer won this race last year and he has been in the winning lineup in the last two races at Iowa Speedway.
The winning lineup last year had a “stars and scrubs” lineup build. It had three drivers priced over $9,500 and three drivers priced under $7,500. The winning lineup in 2024 had a more balance approach. Based on the pricing this week, I think that a stars and scrubs approach is the best strategy for the HyVee Perks 250. We are going to need the top-three dominators in our lineup Saturday.
