The O’Reilly Series will join the Cup Series and Truck Series at Navy Base Coronado this weekend for the first ever race on a military installation. The Cup Series drivers are not allowed to compete in this race, so we do not have to worry about Shane van Gisbergen or Connor Zilisch stinking up the race. The playing is more even this week, so I am expecting and exciting race at Navy Base Coronado. The United Rentals Driver to Serve 250 can be seen Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on CW Channel.
FANTASY STATS FOR NAVY BASE CORONADO
The O’Reilly Series has never raced the base before, so this track will be a new experience for each driver in the field. The O’Reilly Series does have a lot of experience on road courses though. The O’Reilly Series raced at Watkins Glen, COTA, Portland, Mexico, Sonoma and the Chicago Street Course over the last year. I am using the stats from these races and putting an emphasis on the race in Chicago since the street course track should be the most similar to the race on the base this weekend.
Here are the stats from the races on the road course tracks over the last year, sorted by DraftKings Points….

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING
The O’Reilly Series had their normal practice session this week. The teams had 50-minutes to dial in their cars for the race this evening. Navy Base Coronado is 3.44-mile track with 16 turns. It is the longest track on the schedule. The teams did not have time to make any long runs in practice, so we will have to focus on the single-lap speed chart for our picks today.
Here are the O’Reilly Series practice speeds at Navy Base Coronado….

* Jesse Love was not be allowed to qualify, he has to start in the back and he will have to serve a drive-through penalty today because the team (RCR) had illegal lugnuts on the car. He will not lose a lap and he should be able to make his way through the field easily.
DRIVER RANKINGS FOR CORONADO

STRATEGY FOR CORONADO
The race Saturday is scheduled for 60 laps (250 miles). That means there are 15 points available for leading laps and 27 points available for fastest laps (42 dominator points). That is not enough dominator points to chase today, especially when fuel strategy should come into play. We need to focus on place differential and finishing points. A driver who starts 15th and finished 6th should score more points than the driver who leads the most laps today.
WINNING LINEUPS AT ROAD COURSES (2026)

I am not sure how much we can learn from the winning lineups at the road courses this year. Shane van Gisbergen and Connor Zilisch were in the field for both races and they dominated the bonus points for leading laps and fastest laps. The race today should be more even without these two Cup Series drivers in the field. Brent Crews and Alex Labbe were in both winning lineups this year. Both lineups spent most of the $50K Salary Cap too. Most of the drivers in the winning lineups started outside the top-10, so place differential points will be important today.
DRAFTKINGS CASH LINEUP

The dominator points are limited in today’s race, so I am going to play the place differential game. If these drivers can use their speed advantage to make it cleanly through the field, this lineup is going to be tough to beat.

Good Luck Saturday!
