DFS Xfinity Series Picks for Darlington

The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series and Truck Series at Darlington Raceway this weekend. The Xfinity Series did not race last week at Kansas, so the teams had some extra time to find some speed for the race at Darlington. William Byron, Aric Almirola and John H. Nemechek are entered into the race this weekend. Will Byron dominated the race or will the Xfinity Series regulars be able to hold off the Cup Series star? It will be fun to watch. The Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200 can be seen Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1.

The Xfinity Series practice and qualifying was washed out Friday. The means the field was set “per the rule book” and it also means there are some great drivers who start deep in the field. William Byron, Aric Almirola, John H. Nemechek and Matt DiBenedetto all start towards the back. It will be tough to fade these drivers in our lineups. I dropped the drivers who have never turned a lap at Darlington in my rankings. These drivers include Jesse Love, Carson Kvapil, Shane van Gisbergen and Leyland Honeyman Jr.

Darlington is a unique track. It is a 1.366-mile; egg-shaped, high-banked track that wears out tires quickly. We must focus our picks on the driver’s track history at Darlington, but I am also going to use the data from the races at Las Vegas and Dover. Darlington is a high-speed track like Las Vegas and it is high-banked like Dover. I want some of the data from the 2024 season in the model this week, so I will combine the stats from Sin City and the Monster Mile to the last four races at Darlington.

Here are the stats from the last four races at Dover (2022 – 2023) and the races at Las Vegas and Dover this year, sorted by DraftKings Points…

The Xfinity Series races at Darlington have a habit of being a two dominator race. I was planning on paying up for the two drivers who I thought would lead the most laps but the cancellation of practice and qualifying changes everything. I am paying up for the high-priced drivers who start in the back. William Byron and Aric Almirola have a great chance to score the most place differential points and lead the most laps too. It may be tough to win this week without these two drivers in our lineups. I know they will be popular, but we will have to find other drivers who will have lower ownership for our lineups.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes William Byron, Cole Custer, Aric Almirola and Austin Hill

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include William Byron, Aric Almirola, John H. Nemechek, Matt DiBenedetto, Taylor Gray, Ryan Sieg, Sammy Smith, Blaine Perkins and Josh Bilicki

* I am building this lineup like a Superspeedway track. I will try to score as many place differential points as possible and hope William Byron, Aric Almirola or John H. Nemechek can get to the front and lead some laps. This lineup could score a huge amount of points or it could be an epic fail if Cole Custer is able to hold off the competition and the Cup Series drivers have a tough time making their way through traffic.

Good Luck This Week!
