The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series at Darlington Raceway this weekend. The Xfinity Series still has four races left on their regular season. That means there are only four races left for the Cup Series regulars to compete in the Xfinity Series. Many of these Cup Series drivers will get some extra seat time this weekend. Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson will all compete in the race today. Corey Heim will step up from the Truck Series too. This field is stacked and it should be a fun race to watch. The Sport Clips 200 can be today at 3:30 p.m. ET on USA Network.
PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING AT DARLINGTON
NASCAR had their normal practice session Saturday morning for today’s race. The teams had 20-minutes and two sets of tires to dial in their cars for the race. Tire fall-off is huge at Darlington, so many of the teams made a long run to see if their car could maintain speed. It will be more important to look at the 10-lap average speed this weekend when you try to find drivers for your DFS lineups.
Here are the practice speeds for the Sport Clips 200 …

STATS TO USE FOR DARLINGTON
Darlington is a unique track. They do not call it “The Track Too Tough to Tame” for nothing. The egg-shaped, 1.366-mile track has a surface that eats tires quickly. The drivers are required to search the track for grip and run up against the wall once the rubber is worn down. The drivers who can run consecutive laps against the wall without getting too many “Darlington Stripes” usually finish up front.
I like to focus my picks on track history, but the problem is that some of the drivers in the field do not have much at Darlington. It is going to be tough to fade the Cup Series regulars and the older drivers in the Xfinity Series.

STRATEGY FOR DARLINGTON
The race today at Darlington is scheduled 147 laps. That is a pretty short race for the Xfinity Series, so starting track position will be important. The trend in the last three races at Darlington is for the race to have two dominators. The main dominator leads roughly 90 laps and scores 28 fastest laps (35.1 dominator points). The second dominator leads roughly 40 laps and scores 16 fastest laps (17.2 dominator points). We are going to need these two drivers in our lineup, but they are going to be expensive. I expect two of the Cup Series drivers to dominate the race. That means we will have to build some “stars and scrubs” lineups for today’s race.
The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott, Austin Hill and Justin Allgaier
The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Justin Allgaier, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, Cole Custer, Noah Gragson, Jesse Love, Carson Kvapil, Josh Williams, Blain Perkins and Garrett Smithley
