DFS Xfinity Series Picks for Dover

The Xfinity Series will join the Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway this week. The Xfinity Series has put on a better show this year than the Cup Series races. That may continue this weekend. The race at the Monster Mile will be the final “Dash for Cash” race. That means there will not be any Cup Series drivers in the race. We do not need to worry about Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson or some other Cup Series champion coming down to stink up the race this week. The BetRivers 200 should be a good for to win some cash in a DraftKings Contest.

The Xfinity Series will be back to a normal schedule this week. The teams were not allowed to practice last week because Talladega is a Superspeedway track. Dover is an intermediate track, so the teams were given 20-minutes to shake down their cars for Saturday’s race. It only takes the Xfinity Series drivers 23 seconds to turn a lap at the Monster Mile. Most of the teams were able to make some long run in practice. The Xfinity Series races at Dover have only average three cautions over the last two years (Not counting the Stage Breaks), so we will need the drivers who are fast on the long runs in our lineups Saturday.

I typically use the stats from the previous races at a track to handicap each race, but there are so many drivers with new teams and so many drivers making their first start in the Xfinity Series at Dover; that it is tough to figure out who will be fast by only looking at the data from the races at Dover. I used the stats from the last two races at Dover and combined it with the data from the race at Las Vegas (another high-banked, intermediate track).

Here are the stats from the last two races at Dover (2022 – 2023) and the race at Las Vegas this year, sorted by DraftKings Points…

The Xfinity Series race at Dover is scheduled for 200 laps (200 miles). That means there are 50 points available for leading laps and 90 points available for fastest laps (140 dominator points). What are we going to get this week? The dominator points were spread out between three drivers in 2022. Justin Allgaier led 67 laps and scored 38 fastest laps (33.85 Dominator Points), Brandon Jones led 59 laps and score 32 fastest laps (29.15 Dominator Points) and Josh Berry led 55 laps and score 27 fastest laps (25.9 Dominator Points). The race last year was completely dominated by Ryan Truex. He led 124 laps and scored 74 fastest laps (64 .3 Dominator Points).

I expect two main dominators this week who should lead around 75 laps each and another drivers who leads around 40 laps. It will be a good idea to pay up for the two drivers who you think will lead the most laps Saturday. It will be tough to win our contests without the two main dominators in our lineups.

The drivers with the best chance to score dominator points today includes Brandon Jones, Justin Allgaier, Sheldon Creed, Ryan Truex and Cole Custer

The drivers with the best chance to score place differential points include Ryan Truex, Shane van Gisbergen, Sam Mayer, Josh Williams, Carson Kvapil and Daniel Dye
