The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is in Fort Worth, Texas this week for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500. The race can be seen Sunday at 1 pm ET on Fox. Qualifying and wrecks really messed up the field again. A car not being able to make their way through inspection before qualifying is becoming ridiculous. NASCAR and the teams playing this cat and mouse game is starting to be a black eye for the sport and it is ruining DFS NASCAR. Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne, Erik Jones and Chris Buescher all failed to qualify their cars. They will all be popular picks in DraftKings.
Jimmie Johnson spun out in qualifying and had to change his tires. He will start in the back Sunday. The No. 48 car will be scored from the 24th position.
Trevor Bayne got into the wall in final practice and he will also start in the back.
My strategy this week will be to load up on these good drivers starting in the back. They will have a great chance to score many points for position differential. This is a long race and they will have plenty of time to make their way to the front.
Finding at least two of the dominators (drivers who lead the most laps and score the fastest laps) will be very important this week. There are 334 laps in the race and 250.5 points available for leading laps and fastest laps. Do not go to crazy with drivers in the back in Tournament Contests.
