DraftKings PGA Picks for the Greenbrier Classic

Facebooktwitter

The PGA Tour travels to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia this week for the Greenbrier Classic. If you have not signed up for DraftKings, there is no better time than now. Sign up here (DraftKings) and let me help you win some money this season.

Last week my picks turned out pretty good. I cashed all of my lineups and I plan to do the same this week.

The Greenbrier Classic was canceled last year due to flooding at the course. The PGA helped the course rebuild and it is in beautiful shape this year. There are only two PAR 5s and the traditional four PAR 3s. What makes this course unique is that the final hole is a PAR 3. The course is wide open so it is a bombers paradise.

$10K+ Prince Range

My strategy of fading the top golfers paid off well last week. My lineup without any of the $10K golfers scored 415.50 points and cashed nicely. The lineup with Rickie Fowler as my only high-priced golfer scored 422 and finished 1st in my Tournament Contest. I plan to fade most of these golfers or only use one in my lineups this week. Here are the golfers I like.

Kevin Kisner $10,700 is my favorite play from this group. He is in good form and Kisner was in a playoff in the last tournament at the Greenbrier Classic. His is also No. 1 in the field in putting. He is my pick to win this week.

Web Simpson $10,100 is another good choice from this price range. He has made 4/6 cuts at the Greenbrier Classic with 3 top-10 finishes. Simpson should be the lowest owned from this group so he is a great Tournament Contest play this week.

Phil Mickelson $10,400 will be highly owned and he has some risk this week so I will be staying away from him in Tournament Contest. This is a terrible course for lefty but he has made 13/13 cuts this season so he should be OK. Another concern is that he will have a new caddy for the first time in his career this week. I will through Phil into some Cash Contests because of his consistency.

$9K Price Range:

This is my favorite group this week. I will start building most of my Tournament Contests with two golfers from the $9k price range. Here are the golfers I like…

Charles Howell $9,700 is my No. 1 play from this group. I said last week I call him the Cash Register because he always cashes in. Last week did he not only make the cut, he almost won the tournament. Howell is one of the most reliable golfers in the field this week. I love him in Cash Contests but will use him in Tournament Contests as well.

Bubba Watson $9,800 is hard to trust but he should play well this week. Bubba loves this tournament so much that he bought a house near the course and he is a member. Watson has made 3/3 cuts at the Greenbrier Classic with 2 top-25 finishes. This should be the week Bubba plays well.

Danny Lee $9,500 won the last event at the Greenbrier Classic. He is in great form. Lee finished 22nd last week at the Quicken Loans National and 3rd the week before at the Travelers Championship. Lee should be at the top of the leaderboard this week.

Keegan Bradley $9,400 is my 2nd favorite golfer from this group. He has made 4/4 cuts at the Greenbrier Classic with a top-25 finish. Bradley is in great form. He finished 5th last week at the Quicken Loans National and 8th the week before at the Travelers Championship.

Russell Henley $9,300 is in good form. He played good last week until he blew up on the weekend. He should be much better this week at an easier course.

Tony Finua $9,100 will be a very popular play. I will be fading him in most Tournament Contests because of his high ownership, but I will throw him into 10% of my lineups and a lot of Cash Contests.

$8K Price Range:

Kevin Streeleman $8,900 continued to play well last week at the Quicken Loans National. He finished 17th and it was his fourth consecutive top-20 finish. Streeleman is a great golfer for Cash Contests and very good for Tournament Contests this week.

J.B. Holmes $8,500 has not been great this season but this course sets up nicely for his game. The wide fairways should allow Holmes to bomb it off the tee and have easy approach shots to the green. He is a good Tournament Contest play this week.

Graham Delaet $8,400 burned people by missing the cut last week. That is a good thing. His ownership was getting too high and this should drive people away from him this week since DFS players have short memories. DeLaet has made 4/4 cuts at the Greenbrier Classic with one top-25 finish. He is a good Tournament Contest play this week.

Jamie Lovemark $8,300 was in good form before last week’s 75th place finish. Lovemark made nine consecutive cuts. This course sets up for his bombing style of golf. I think he will play very well this week in West Virginia.

$7K Price Range:

There are some good golfers in this price range who will allow you to build some balanced lineups this week. That has been the best strategy since the U.S. Open finished last month.

Gary Woodland $7,500 is a steal at this price. He is a bomber who should score well at this course. Woodland is 2nd in the field in strokes gained off the tee. I will have Woodland in many of my Tournament Contests this week.

Grayson Murray $7,400 was playing very well until his 74th place finish last week. The course is much easier this week and it sets up nicely for his game. Murray has made nine cuts in a row so he a safe play this week.

Patrick Rodgers $7,100 is not a well known golfer so he is a good Tournament Contest play this week. Rodgers played well last week with a 22nd place finish. I expect him to play well this week too since his length off the tee should give him an advantage.

Curtis Luck $7,000 is one of my favorite plays from this group. Few people know who he is so Luck is a great pick for Tournament Contests. Luck is the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion. He has made 8/12 cuts this season, including a 5th place finish last week.

Harris English $7,000 is starting to play much better. I am getting on board before he really heats up and becomes a popular pick. After a slow start to the season English has now made 4/5 cuts including two top-25 finish. English is a good Tournament play this week.

$6K Price Range:

There is some good value from this price range this week which will allow you to spend up for the higher-priced golfers.

My two favorite golfers from this price range are Stewart Cink $6,900 and Chad Campbell $6,900. Cink is way underpriced this week and he usually scores well on easy courses. Campbell also plays well on easy courses and he is a good pivot from Cink since he should be lower owned this week.

I have four cheap golfers who should play well this week. I plan to use one of these golfers in some of my Tournament Contests to allow me to spend up for the higher priced golfers. Here are my top cheap golfers in the order I like them: 1) Scott Stallings $6,400, 2) Luke List $6,400, 3) Trey Mullinax $6,400 and 4) Cameron Tringale $6,500.

FANDUEL

To be honest I lost my touch with FanDuel since they changed their scoring format. My strategy has been to select golfers who are good at making the cut but that is hard when you have to select 8 golfers and they cannot all be higher-priced or mid-tier golfers. You need to dip low and grab some of the cheap golfers. I have not been hitting with my cheap golfers so I spent some more time with this game this week to help my FanDuel picks cash this week.

FanDuel Lineup 1

Bill Haas $8,800 (10/13 Cuts Made)

Web Simpson $8,300 (11/15 Cuts Made)

Keegan Bradley $7,900 (12/17 Cuts Made)

Charles Howell $7,600 (10/10 Cuts Made)

David Lingmerth $7,600 (12/16 Cuts Made)

Stewart Cink $7,200 (13/16 Cuts Made)

Kevin Streeleman $6,600 (11/15 Cuts Made)

Jason Kokrak $6,000 (12/17 Cuts Made)

FanDuel Lineup 2

Kevin Kisner $9,500 (12/13 Cuts Made)

Danny Lee $8,400 (13/20 Cuts Made)

Keegan Bradley $7,900 (12/17 Cuts Made)

Russell Henley $7,700 (11/14 Cuts Made)

Charles Howell $7,600 (10/10 Cuts Made)

Kevin Streeleman $6,600 (11/15 Cuts Made)

Graham Delaet $6,700 (10/15 Cuts Made)

Good Luck This Week!!!!
