Finally it is Masters’ week. This is the best week of the year to win money in DraftKings PGA Contests.
If you have not signed up for DraftKings, there is no better time than now. Sign up here (DraftKings) and let me help you win some money this season.
There are two contests that most people will be focusing on this week. The $3.5M Golf Millionaire Contest cost $33 to enter and pays $1M to the winner. If you are able to finish in the top 31K you will take home $50. In the weeks leading up to the Masters I concentrate on earning as many free tickets to this contest as possible. This year I have four tickets and if each of them cash for $50 I will be happy (but my goal is to win the $1M).
The other popular contest this week and the one I recommend is the PGA $600K Birdie Contest. This contest only cost $3 to enter and pays out $50K to the winner. If you finish in the top 60K you will earn $5, so it is not too bad of a contest to try if you are new to golf. I will definitely throw some darts at it and see if I can hit the $50K bull’s-eye.
Now onto the tournament…
The weather on Thursday and Friday may play a facture into who will make the cut. The forecast is for cool temperatures and high winds. This should make the European players a big facture in the tournament. I plan to use many of the golfers from Europe who are used to playing in these conditions.
Tournament Strategy
Most of the tournaments will fill up this week because of the popularity of the tournaments. There will be a lot of new players to DFS Golf taking a chance at the large jackpots, so this is our chance to take advantage of them.
There are four high priced golfers (Jordan Spieth $11,500, Dustin Johnson $11,300, Rory Mcilroy $10,600 and Jason Day $10,200) and it is likely that at least one of them will be in the winning lineup this week. Johnson and Mcilroy will be the highest owned. Johnson is the best player on the planet right now and Mcilroy has the best course fit for Augusta National. Jason Day has a lot going on in his life with his mother being diagnosed with cancer. Day may play well but my plan is to fade him this week. My strategy will be to spread Johnson, Speith and Mcilroy throughout my lineups and hope I hit the right combination.
One golfer I plan to fade in the Millionaire Maker Contest is Phil Mickelson. Lefty will be highly owned and if he struggles I can make up a lot of ground on the field. My pivots from Mickelson are Sergio Garcia $8,300 and Louis Oosthuizen $8,100. These two Europeans should play well in the bad weather. I also love Tyrell Hatton $7,600 to save a few extra dollars.
There are many cheap golfers worth using this week in order to allow you to spend up for the higher priced golfers. I like Brendan Steele $7,100, Charlie Hoffman $7,100, and Mark Leishman $7,100 at the bottom of the $7K price range.
You can still find value in the $6K price range this year. I like Tommy Fleetwood $6,900, Kevin Kisner $6,900 and Adam Hadwin $6,900.
There are only two dirt cheap golfers I like this week: Hideto Tanihara $6,500 and Soren Kjeldsen $6,500. They have a lot of experience playing in poor conditions and could sneak up the leader board this week.

FanDuel Strategy
Last week I tried out the new FanDuel game for the second time. I was able to cash in my 50/50 Contest but not by much. To be honest, I am still learning the secret to this game.
The scoring in FanDuel is not the same as any other DFS game out there. FanDuel requires players to select 4 Golfer for Rounds 1 and 2. You select 4 different golfers for Rounds 3 and 4. If the golfers you select for Rounds 3 and 4 do not make the cut you receive 0 points for them. Also the game awards bonus points for any of your golfers who finish in the top 25.
This week I plan to play more 50/50 Contests and see how many I can cash in.
FanDuel Lineup
ROUND 1-2: Jordan Speith $10,600
ROUND 1-2: Marc Leishman $6,500
ROUND 1-2: Soren Kjeldsen $5,600
ROUND 1-2: Bernhard Langer $4,900
ROUND 3-4: Dustin Johnson $11,000
ROUND 3-4: Sergio Garcia $8,100
ROUND 3-4: Charlie Hoffman $6,700
ROUND 3-4: Thomas Peiters $6,600
If you win the Million this week, please remember me!!!
Good Luck This Week!!!!
