DraftKings Picks for Truck Series Race at Lime Rock

Facebooktwitter

The Truck Series will return after two weeks off to race at Lime Rock Park. This is another road course race for the Truck Series and the second consecutive road course on the schedule. Layne Riggs won two of the road courses this year (St. Petersburg and San Diego) and Kaden Honeycutt won at Watkins Glen. These have been the two best drivers in the Truck Series this year and the two best on the road courses. Will Riggs or Honeycutt add another win to their 2026 Truck Series resume, or will another driver find Victory Lane in Connecticut? It should be fun to see how it all plays out. The LiUNA 150 can be seen Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on FS1.

DRIVER STATS FOR LIME ROCK PARK

Lime Rock Park is a 1.5-mile road course. That is pretty small for a road course, but it is pretty tight too. The track winds through the high-speed foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with a lot of elevation changes. The Truck Series raced at this track for the first time last year with Corey Heim capturing the checkered flag.

So, how do we handicap this road course track? I used the data from the race last year at Lime Rock and combined it with the data from the three road course races this year (St. Petersburg, Watkins Glen and San Diego). I am not sure how much the data from St. Petersburg and San Diego will translate into the race at Lime Rock, but those tracks do require road course skills, so I will include them in the stats this week.

Here are the stats from the race at Lime Rock last year and the road course races this year, sorted by DraftKings Points….

* The website I typically use for the stats does not have stats from St. Petersburg or Lime Rock, so I had to use another site this week.

PRACTICE / QUALIFYING

The Truck Series had two 50 minute practice sessions to dial in their trucks for today’s race and then the teams lined up for single-lap qualifying. Lime Rock Park is a small road course track, so some of the teams were able to make a long run in practice. I will be focusing the picks on the drivers who posted a fast single lap, fast five-lap average and qualified up front. The drivers who check these boxes will be the best for our DraftKings lineups today.

Here are the practice speeds from the final practice session at Lime Rock Park….

DFS STRATEGY FOR LIME ROCK PARK

The race today is scheduled for 100 laps (148 miles). That means there are 25 points available for leading laps and 45 points available for fastest laps (70 dominator points available in tonight’s race). Corey Heim led 99 of the 100 laps last year. I doubt that is going to happen today. We can expect this race to be closer to how the race at Watkins Glen played out this year. Connor Zilisch led 40% of the laps and Brent Crews led 25% of the laps. We should have one driver lead 40-50 laps today and another driver lead 25-30 laps. I will be paying up for the two drivers who I think can lead the most laps at Lime Rock Park.
