Get your comfy clothes on and stock the mini fridge with beer next to your recliner Sunday evening because it is going to be a long night. The Cup Series competes in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is the longest race of the season and lot can happen during the 400 laps. It will be fun to see which driver can survive this tough race. The Coca-Cola 600 can be seen Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on Fox.
Boom! The Driver Group Game picks qualified #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5. That means we swept the qualifying points and start the race with 26 bonus points. That is a good way to start the race.
The Cup Series had their practice session Friday evening and their qualifying session Saturday morning. Now it is time to set our lineups for this long race. Here is my starting lineup for the Coca-Cola 600…
Group A: Chase Elliott (6)
Group B: Kyle Larson (3), William Byron (3)
Group C: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (5)
* My plan is to use Kyle Larson while he is blistering hot. We have seen drivers fade over the summer months before. There are four Stages in this race so that is a chance for Larson to earn more points in the Coca-Cola 600 than any other race this season. I need Larson for Darlington and Las Vegas so I will have enough allocations for the rest of the season.
