The Cup Series no longer has practice at the Superspeedway tracks. The teams line up the cars for qualifying and the drivers make a single lap to determine the starting positions for Saturday night’s race. There is not a lot of time for the teams to shake down their cars. Hopefully they have the cars well prepared and there are no Gremlins once the race starts.
So, how do we handicap this race? We do not have any practice to see which cars look good in the draft. All we can do is go off of the data from the four Superspeedway races earlier this season. These races include the Daytona 500, Talladega and the two races at Atlanta. The driver’s who were able to survive these races, should have a good chance to finish up front Saturday night.
Here is my starting lineup for the Coke Zero 400…
