Driver Group Game Picks for Dover

NASCAR is ready to try and tame Miles the Monster at Dover Motor Speedway Sunday. The Cup Series is back to their regular schedule this weekend. The teams had 20-minutes to shake down their cars for the Wurth 400. It only takes 23 seconds to turn a lap at Dover, so many of the teams were able to make some long runs in practice. The average green flag run in the Gen-7 car is 87 laps, so it would be a good idea to select the drivers who were fast on the long runs for our lineups Sunday.

Here is my starting lineup for the Wurth 400

WILLIAM BYRON (8): Byron dominated the last race at Dover. He led 193 laps, won Stage 1, finished 2nd in Stage 2 and finished 4th at Dover last year. He looks fast again this weekend. Byron posted the 3rd fastest speed in practice and qualified 3rd for the race. I will take a chance with the No. 24 car Sunday.

ROSS CHASTAIN (8): Chastain has been really good at Dover in the Gen-7 car. He led 86 laps, scored 12 Stage Points and finished 3rd in 2022. Chastain led 98 laps, scored 16 Stage Points and finished 2nd last year. Dover is one of the best tracks for Chastain so I will use an allocation with the No. 1 car Sunday.

ALEX BOWMAN (8): Bowman should be a good pick this week. Dover is the best track for Bowman. He finished 5th, 1st and 5th in his last three races at the Monster Mile. Bowman did not look great in practice, but the team used the notes from the No. 24 car to dial it in for qualifying. Bowman starts 9th, so he has the track position to score some Stage Points and finish in the top-10 this week. Dover has been a good track for Hendrick Motorsports, so I will take a chance with Bowman Sunday.

CHASE BRISCOE (6): I really did not want to use another allocation with Briscoe, but he looks like he will be one of the best drivers in Group C again this week. Briscoe posted the 4th fastest speed in practice and qualified 7th for the race. Briscoe finished 13th in the Gen-7 car at Dover in 2022. He should have a similar race Sunday.

* NOAH GRAGSON looks like the best choice in Group C. I would use Gragson if he is available for your team.
