Driver Group Game Picks for Kansas

The MENCS will compete at Kansas Speedway this week in the Hollywood Casino 400. There are only 5 races remaining on the schedule so there is no need to save allocations now. We have been saving our best drivers for this time of year and it is time to use them and try to outscore our competitors who used the top drivers early in the season. We need another 300 point week and I think we will get it Sunday.

Brad Keselowski (6): I had a hard time deciding between Martin Truex Jr. and Keselowski. I wish I had more allocations with Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch. The No. 4 and No. 18 are the top two cars in this race. I went with Keselowski over Truex because the No. 2 is trending up while the No. 78 is trending down. Keselowski has won the last 2 races on the 1.5-mile tracks and he said after final practice, “Our car is fast enough to win. If Paul Wolf gets me the track position I need I doubt anyone can pass us.

Group A Driver Rankings: 1) Kevin Harvick 2) Kyle Busch 3) Brad Keselowski 4) Martin Truex Jr. 5) Joey Logano 6) Kyle Larson 7) Denny Hamlin 8) Jimmie Johnson

Game B

Ryan Blaney (2): You cannot sit Blaney at Kansas. This is his best track and he should have won the race in May. Blaney consistently posted top-5 lap speed in practice. He starts 4th and should be a serious threat to win Sunday. Blaney is in a ‘must win” situation so the No. 12 team will do everything possible to win this week.

Kurt Busch (1): Busch is the most consistent driver in the MENCS. He has finished 13 consecutive oval track races in the top 10. Busch posted the fastest time in final practice with the 3rd-best 10-lap average speed and the 3rd-best 15-lap average speed. I would not be surprised if Busch won the race Sunday. He is that fast.

Group B Driver Rankings: 1) Kurt Busch 2) Ryan Blaney 3) Erik Jones 4) Aric Almirola 5) Chase Elliott 6) Clint Bowyer 7) Paul Menard 8) Ryan Newman 9) Daniel Suarez 10) Austin Dillon

Group C

Alex Bowman (2): Hendrick Motorsports put a lot of work into the No. 88 car this week. Bowman is in a “must win” situation. He had the No. 24 and No. 48 working on setups for his car. It paid off because Bowman posted laps in the top 10 and some in the top 5. I think it is a good idea to use Bowman while he is still alive in the playoffs.

Group C Driver Rankings: 1) Alex Bowman) William Byron 3) Regan Smith 4) Chris Buescher 5) David Ragan

Good luck this week!
