Driver Rankings for Atlanta

The Cup Series will finally make its way to Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS). The race was originally scheduled for March 15th but now the race will be on a hotter, slicker track. This should be one of the better races of the season. The Folds of Honor Quick Trip 500 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FS1.

AMS eats tires as fast as any track on the schedule. That means teams will take four tires at each stop and there will be a lot of pit stops Sunday since the race is 500 miles. Teams with a fast pit crew and drivers who can manage their tires will be up front Sunday.

Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I focused on what happened at Auto Club and Darlington since those tracks are also high tire-wear tracks. I also factored in what we saw at Charlotte since some teams gained a bit of speed since the series returned from the Covid 19 break.
