Driver Rankings for Bristol

It’s Bristol Baby! The Cup Series will park the 550 HP aero package cars and unload the reduced down force cars Sunday. NASCAR did not like what they saw on the short tracks last year so they scrapped the 2019 aero package with the 8” spoiler and 2” splitter in favor of the 2017 – 2018 aero packages with 2” spoiler and 0.25” splitter. This should make for a better race this week. The SuperMarket Heroes 500 can be seen Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1

Bristol is a rhythm racetrack. Drivers must get on the throttle and the brakes are the right time to turn fast laps in Thunder Valley. It is going to be difficult for drivers to find their rhythm without any practice or qualifying. This is a good race to use the veterans who have had a lot of success at Bristol. The rhythm will come back to them faster then it will for the drivers with little experience.

Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I focused on what happened at Bristol in 2017 and 2018 since that is the aero-package they will be using this weekend. I also factored in the speed at Phoenix earlier this season since they used this aero-package in that race.
