Driver Rankings for Coca-Cola 600

Facebooktwitter

The Cup Series will travel back home this week to celebrate Memorial Weekend the only way they know how… with the Coca-Cola 600. This is the ultimate endurance race and it really falls into the crew chief’s hands because of the way the track changes from sunlight to darkness. It should be a fun race to watch. The Coca-Cola 600 can be seen Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on Fox.

This is one of the few races on the revised schedule where the field will be set by qualification. Qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600 will be Sunday at 12 p.m. ET (Noon) on FS1.

The race Sunday is scheduled for 400 laps (600 miles). That is a long time to be on the track without any issues. Last year the Cup Series had a record 16 caution flags in the Coca-Cola 600. You will need a driver who is mentally strong and has the physical endurance to make it to the end of this marathon race.

Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I focused on what happened at Las Vegas. The track in Sin City is a 1.5-mile tri-oval, while Charlotte is a 1.5-mile quad-oval, but this track is closer to L.V. than the egg-shaped track in Darlington. I also used past stats at Charlotte, and total stats from the 1.5-mile and 2-mile tracks in 2020.

Here are the early week driver rankings for Charlotte…
