Driver Rankings for Nashville

The fans have been begging NASCAR to return to Nashville and this week they will get their wish. All three of NASCAR’s top series will compete at Nashville Superspeedway. Most fans would have preferred a trip to the Nashville Fairgrounds, but any trip to The Music City is better than nothing. The Ally 400 can be seen Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on NBCSN (Yes, NBC has the NASCAR coverage for the rest of the season so be sure you are on the right station this week).

Nashville Superspeedway is a 1.33-mile concrete track. It is the sister track of Dover International Speedway, but it is a bit larger than the Monster Mile, with less banking. I still expect the drivers who ran well at Dover to run well at Nashville.

I used the data from the race at Dover for my rankings this week, but I am also using the data from Darlington. Dover, Darlington and Nashville will all be run using the 750 HP aero package. Dover has the same surface as Nashville (concrete) and Darlington is the same size as Nashville (1.3-miles). When we combined the data from Dover and Darlington, we should get a good idea of which drivers will be fast Sunday.

The Cup Series will get to have practice Saturday (1 p.m. ET NBCSN) and qualifying Sunday (11 a.m. ET on NBCSN). We will get to see the cars on the track before most of our Fantasy NASCAR lineups need to be set, so that should make this race easier to predict.
