Driver Rankings for Phoenix

Here we are… The final race of the 2021 Fantasy NASCAR season. Who will win the championship? The four drivers competing for the trophy Sunday are Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr.  Larson dominated this races this season has be is probably the worst of the four at Phoenix. Elliott won this race last year and he has been the best driver behind Larson in the playoffs. Truex won the race at Phoenix in March. Can he win again? Hamlin is still looking for his first championship. Will this be the year he finally gets the trophy? This championship is really up for grabs Sunday and it should be fun to watch.

The trend in the Championship Race is for the four drivers competing for the trophy to get a lot of room on the track from their competitors. That has not been the case though this year in the playoffs. The eliminated drivers have competed just as hard as the drivers racing for the championship. I expect Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch to be a factor in this race. They are not moving over for anyone.

There will be two practices Friday and qualifying Saturday so these rankings will likely change a bit. I used the drivers Average Green Flag Speed on the short, flat tracks in 2021 (Phoenix, Richmond and New Hampshire), Driver Rating from the race at Phoenix in March and momentum in the last four oval races in the playoffs for my rankings this week.
