Early Week Driver Rankings for Homestead

Facebooktwitter

It is time to crown the 2019 MENCS Champion at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This season went by quick and the aero packages really made for some unique racing. It also made it tougher to predict the top drivers in Fantasy NASCAR. FantasyRacingTips.com was able to figure it out and once again the picks are sitting near the top of most of the league standings. Now it is time to sit back and watch Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick compete for the title. The Ford EcoBoost 400 can be seen Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.

* Before I get into the picks this week I want to say THANK YOU for giving FantasyRacingTips.com to be your source for Fantasy NASCAR advice. I always strive to do my best to provide the best content, answer your questions in a reasonable amount of time and help you win your league or money in DFS. I am working hard to make it even better in 2020 so please check out the site again next year.

NASCAR will have a normal schedule this week. There will be two practices Friday. The first practice is at 3:30 p.m. ET (NBCSN) and final practice will be at 6:30 p.m. ET (NBCSN).  Qualifying will be Saturday at 2 p.m. ET (NBCSN). The cars will be inspected Saturday before qualifying so we do not have to worry about any cars failing inspection and starting from the back this week.

The cars will have the 550 HP engines with the 2” splitter, 8” spoiler and the aero ducts this week. It is the same package they used in all of the 1.5-mile tracks this season. Kevin Harvick said the 550 HP package could change the game at Homestead. Running the top of the track was always the preferred way around the track because drivers could hold the throttle wide-open. Harvick expects the less horsepower to allow drivers to run wide-open around the bottom too this year.

My early week pick for the pole is Kevin Harvick. The No. 4 car has won 4 poles this season and they all have occurred using the 550 HP aero package. The last pole for Harvick came two weeks ago at Texas. His team has had two weeks to work on their car to prepare it for Homestead. I expect the No. 4 team will have the fastest car in qualifying.

Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I used Driver Ratings at the 1.5-mile tracks,  Average Running Position at 1.5-mile  tracks, Driver Rating at the Homestead, Average Running Position at Homestead, Driver Rating from the races at Darlington and Las Vegas (Similar tracks) and momentum from the last 4 oval track races.
