Early Week Driver Rankings for Homestead

The Cup Series is getting closer to crowning their 2023 champion. Kyle Larson secured his spot in the final four with his win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last week. There are seven drivers who would love to win the race Sunday at Homestead and join Larson in the race for the Bill France Cup. It will be fun to see how it all plays out in Southern Florida this weekend. The 4Ever 400 can be seen Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Homestead is a unique track. It is a 1.5-mile track, but it is far from a cookie-cutter track. Homestead is more of a rectangular shaped track and not like the D-shaped ovals at Kansas, Las Vegas, Charlotte and Texas. That does not mean we need to ignore the data from the races on the traditional 1.5-mile tracks this week. I used the data from the three races on the 1.5-mile tracks in the playoffs and combined it with the high tire-wear tracks of Darlington and Auto Club. I added in the data from the last two races at Homestead so we can have track history in the model and now the rankings are complete.
