Early Week Driver Rankings for Nashville

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will travel to Music City this weekend to compete at Nashville Superspeedway. This will be the third race for the Cup Series at this track. Kyle Larson dominated the first race by leading 264 of the 300 laps. The race last year with the Gen-7 car saw a more competitive race with four drivers leading over 40 laps (Denny Hamlin led 114 laps, Martin Truex Jr. led 82 laps, Kyle Busch led 54 laps and Chase Elliott led 42 laps). The race this week should play out similar to what we had at the track last year.

Nashville Superspeedway is a 1.33-mile oval track with similar banking to Dover Motor Speedway. The drivers who ran well at Dover also ran well at Nashville in the first two races at the track. I expect that to be true again this week.

I will use the stats from the race at Dover this year and combine it with the stats from the first two races at Nashville. The Cup Series will use the same aero package this week that they used at Dover and Goodyear is expected to bring the same tire that was used at the Monster Mile. I will also add in some data from Darlington since that track is 1.36-mile track like Nashville, but the surfaces are different.
