Early Week Driver Rankings for New Hampshire

The MENCS will compete at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Foxwoods 301. Wow!! We are 20 races into the season already. This has been a fun season and I guess that is why it is flying by so quickly. It will be nice to see the series compete on a smaller track. Usually the races at the “Magic Mile” are pretty fun to watch.

Each week I use different stats in my model to create the best rankings possible to give you an edge on the completion. This week I used the driver’s rating on flat tracks, average finishing position on flat tracks, average running position on flat tracks, driver ratings at New Hampshire, average finishing position at New Hampshire and average finishing position in the last 6 races (We want drivers who have momentum).

My early week pick for the pole is Martin Truex Jr. The No. 78 team enters the race this week with more momentum than any team in the MENCS. Truex has never qualified outside the top 5 at New Hampshire while driving for Furniture Row Racing. Truex has a series has 4 poles this season, including 3 in the last 6 races. Truex won the pole at the track two years ago and he is my pick to score the top spot Friday evening.
