The monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will compete at Charlotte Motor Speedway Sunday. So far Fantasy Live has been my best game this season. I plan to make my way into the top 99.9% and I am almost there. I will continue to use most of the drivers who have been performing well for my team this week. No need to sell them now.
There are 334 laps and 334 bonus points available for leading laps and fastest laps in the race. The average race on 1.5-mile tracks has 267 laps so this week there is 67 additional laps and 67 additional bonus points available. This will make dominators more important Sunday.
The trend at Charlotte is to have no more than two dominators in the race. Martin Truex Jr. led 392 laps in the 2016 May race and 233 laps in the last race at Charlotte. He was the only dominator in those two races. Jimmie Johnson led 155 laps and Chase Elliott led 103 in the October race last year. There were only two dominators in last year’s fall race. I expect two dominators again this week.
I have been using Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson as my three top drivers for the past month. I see no reason to make any changes this week. These three drivers have dominated the races this year and they are the drivers likely to dominate Sunday. I have each of these drivers at a discount so I will not be selling them this week. I also think these drivers benefit the most from Saturday’s practices being washed out.
My two final picks are Aric Almirola and Landon Cassill. I wanted to go with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Matt Dibenedetto but I sold Dibenedetto on accident and could not afford to buy him back. I hate when that happens.
