Fantasy Live Picks for Kentucky

Facebooktwitter

The MENCS competes at Kentucky Speedway this week in the Quaker State 400. There are 8 races left in the regular season. There are races coming up on the schedule where we can save allocations. The cream usually rises to the top on the 1.5-mile tracks so I will not be holding anything back this week.

Kyle Busch (3), Kevin Harvick (2) and Martin Truex Jr. (2) have won the last 12 races on the 1.5-mile tracks so I play all three of these drivers. They are almost locks to score a lot of Stage Points and finish the race in the top five.

Brad Keselowski (4) has won 3 of the 7 races at Kentucky. Pit strategy often comes into play at this track and if it does Saturday night that could favor the No. 2 car. Keselowski was very fat in ractice and he starts 4th. I expect Keselowski to score a lot of Stage Points this week.

Erik Jones (7) will have a lot of momentum after winning last week. Kentucky ranks as his best 1.5-mile track. Jones had the fastest car in final practice and he qualified on the front row. I will take my chances with Jones this week.

Garage Driver: I will have Aric Almirola (8) in the Garage. This pick is all about allocations. I have 8 of them left with Almirola and I would love to use him over one of the Big Three (Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick or Martin Truex Jr.). Almirola has been consistent this year. He should at least finish in the top 12.

* Garage Driver: Fantasy players can put a driver (Garage Driver) into their lineup at any time before the end of Stage 2. You will lose the Stage points from the driver you take out of your lineup though. I only plan to make a change if one of my driver crashes and that is likely to happen this week. If I make a change I will post a message on my Twitter account: @MrFantasyNASCAR

Here are my picks for the Kentucky…

Driver 1: Kyle Busch (3)

Driver 2: Kevin Harvick (2)

Driver 3: Martin Truex Jr. (2)

Driver 4: Brad Keselowski (4)

Driver 5: Erik Jones (7)

Garage Driver: Aric Almirola (8)

Stage 1 Winner: Martin Truex Jr.

Stage 2 Winner: Kevin Harvick

Race Winner: Kevin Harvick

Winning Manufacturer: Toyota

* I am hedging my bet this week with my manufacturer pick. I will pick Kevin Harvick to win and Toyota as the winning manufacturer. I feel good about Kevin Harvick, MartinTruex Jr. or Kyle Busch winning this race. This should ensure my team earns some bonus points Saturday night.

Good luck this week!
