Fantasy Live has been my best game the past three seasons and the 2017 season is off to a hot start. The key to scoring well is to find the drivers who lead the most laps and finish each Stage in the top 10. So far my picks have paid off this season. My teams are ranked in the top 97.5%.
Most people will load up with the top drivers who failed to qualify their cars and start in the back (Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott, Kasey Kahne, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Erik Jones). My strategy is going to take two drivers I think can dominate this race and score points for leading laps and fastest laps. (There are 334 laps and 334 bonus points for leading laps and fastest laps so you will want to capture as many of these points as possible.)
Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski are almost locks to finish the first two Stages in the top five (I have them #1 and #2 in the first Stage). That is possibly 15 bonus points for Harvick and 15 points for Keselowski. Both drivers should lead 50 laps as well (another 25 points). That adds up to 30 bonus points for Harvick and Keselowski and that is being conservative. The drivers in the back will have a more difficult time scoring as many bonus points as Harvick and Keselowski.
The final two spots will be cheap drivers who have little risk and a lot of rewards in the race.
Here are my picks for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500…
Kevin Harvick $26.50 (Starts Pole)
Brad Keselowski $27.75 (Starts 5th)
Kyle Busch $26.75 (Starts 34th)
Chris Buescher $9.00 (Starts 38th)
Matt Dibenedetto $7.25 (Starts 26tht)
PICK TO WIN: Brad Keselowski
* I would rather have Michael McDowell over matt Dibenedetto but I was 25 cents short.
Good luck this week!
