The MENCS competes at Watkins Glen in the Go Bowling at the Glen. My picks are currently ranked 101st overall. The road course races tend to be unpredictable but I need a good race to move back into the top 100. I looked at the last 6 road course races and the drivers I chose for Fantasy Live all ran well in those races.
NASCAR screwed up Fantasy NASCAR last week by inspecting the cars after qualifying and sending 13 cars to the back of the field. They plan to do it again this week but this time they will inspect the cars Sunday morning, instead of Saturday night. The inspection process took 4 hours last week. The cars should make at least one pass through inspection by about 10:30 AM ET. I should be able to put together the starting lineup once each car goes through inspection once.
The picks posted in this article are based on the qualifying positions from Saturday. I will update my picks if any of my picks fail post-qualifying inspection and are set to the back. Be sure to check this article before the race to see if any of the picks had to be changed.
Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are the top picks this week but I would not recommend using them unless you have more than two allocations with them. I would replace Erik Jones and AJ Allmendinger in the lineup if you have the luxery of using Busch or Truex this week. Watkins Glen ranks as the worst track for Kevin Harvick so I would save the allocations with the No. 4 car Sunday.
* Garage Driver: Fantasy players can put a driver (Garage Driver) into their lineup at any time before the end of Stage 2. You will lose the Stage points from the driver you take out of your lineup though. I only plan to make a change if one of my driver crashes and that is likely to happen this week. If I make a change I will post a message on my Twitter account: @MrFantasyNASCAR
