Fantasy Live allows each team to try and predict the driver who will win the pole each week. You do not have to make a pick, but if you do and you are correct; your fantasy team will earn 5 bonus points. These points can add up and be the difference in a few positions in your league standings so we need to get them right this year.
Practice was interesting to say the least. Daniel Hemric and Austin Dillon (both Richard Childress Racing cars) went out and made single-car runs. They went to the top of the speed chart. The Joe Gibbs Racing cars made single-car runs and they were right outside the top 10 on the speed chart. Kyle Busch, Erik Jones, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin went out and made a qualifying run in a draft and they moved into the top 5. Will teams draft or make single-car runs in qualifying? It will be much easier to predict after we see what happens for this race.
Here is my pick for the Pole at Las Vegas: Austin Dillon
All of the teams tried to work the draft to improve their qualifying time. Most of the cars did post a faster lap but they were still unable to beat the lap-time posted by Austin Dillon. The Richard Childress Racing cars are tricked out for speed. Not so sure how they will race, but they have at least one really fast lap in them, so I will go with Dillon as my pole winner Friday evening.
Good Luck this week!!
