Fantasy NASCAR Preview for Homestead

Facebooktwitter

The Truck, Xfinity and Cup Series will all compete at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend and all three series will have a chance to send another driver to the championship four in Phoenix. Joey Logano clinched his spot with his win last week at Las Vegas. Will another driver join him Sunday? Most of the drivers who have dominated the races at Homestead and no longer in the playoffs, so this race could get interesting in Southern Florida.

DIXIE VODKA 400 PREVIEW

Homestead-Miami Speedway is a unique track. It is a 1.5-mile track that is shaped more like a rectangle than an oval. The track has a lot of banking in the corners and it wears out tires quickly during a long run.

The track most similar to Homestead is Darlington. The drivers who run well at “The Track Too Tough to Tame” usually run well at Homestead because drivers must be able to search the track for grip and be able to run up against the wall. Those are the same skills required to run up front at Darlington. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is also a high-banked, fast track so the drivers who were fast last week should be fast Sunday. I will also use some of the data from the races at Kansas for the rankings this week.
