The NASCAR Cup Series will join the Truck Series at Kansas Speedway this week. Both series usually put on some good races at Kansas because the track has progressive banking, so if your car does not handle well at the bottom, drivers can move up the track to search for grip. It has been one of the tougher tracks to predict though. 23XI Racing nailed the setup last year when Kurt Busch won the spring race and Bubba Wallace won the fall race. We should have an idea of which teams unloads with the right setup after practice and qualifying Saturday. Here is the schedule for the racing at Kansas Speedway this weekend…
NASCAR STRATEGY
The Cup Series will use the same aero package that was used at Auto Club, Las Vegas and Dover this year. I will be looking closely at the data from the race in Sin City, because Las Vegas Motor Speedway is the most similar track to Kansas on the 2023 schedule. I will also be looking at the two races in the Gen-7 car at Kansas Speedway last year. I will focus a bit more on the last race, because most teams made some adjustments after the spring race to gain some speed when the Cup Series returned to Kansas Speedway last September.

STATS FOR KANSAS
The best way to handicap this is to look at the data from the asphalt intermediate track races using the current aero package this year (Auto Club and Las Vegas) and combining it with the two races in the Gen-7 car at Kansas Speedway last year. Here are the stats, sorted by Driver Rating for those four races…
*Josh Berry will be driving the No. 48 car for Alex Bowman this week.
