The Truck, Xfinity and Cup Series will all race at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. The Trucks and Xfinity Series will have a double-header of racing Saturday and the Cup Series will race Sunday. The races at Talladega are true “Wild Card Races” because the drivers leading the playoff standings could easily finish last and a driver who is at the cut-line could easily win the race. The 2022 season has been crazy, so expect the unexpected once again this weekend.
* The three series will not have any practice sessions for their races this weekend. They will simply qualify and then lineup to race. The Truck and Cup Series qualifying is not on TV this weekend.
DRIVER RANKINGS FOR TALLADEGA
The Driver Rankings really do not matter much this week. The drivers need to be in the right place at the right time if they want a chance to win the race at Talladega. Some drivers are better than others at predicting when the wrecks will occur, but their fate is still not completely in their hands.
Usually we do not have a lot of data to work with to help handicap which drivers are the best for your Fantasy NASCAR lineups at Talladega. That is not the case this year. Atlanta Motor Speedway was repaved and now it uses the Superspeedway aero package and races like a Superspeedway. That means we could look at the five Superspeedway races to see which drivers have had the most success on the Superspeedway races this year. Those races include the Daytona 500, the first race at Talladega and the two races at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
