First, I like to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day weekend. It is so nice to be able to get out and celebrate and it will be great to see Charlotte Motor Speedway filled with fans.
The NASCAR Cup Series will compete in their marathon race, also known as the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is one of the “Crown Jewel” races for NASCAR and that means there is a special schedule for the weekend. The Cup Series will once again have a practice session and qualify on the track and not using “the formula”. That also means the schedule for my Fantasy NASCAR picks will be a bit different at Charlotte. Here is the schedule and what you should expect this week….
Cup Series Schedule
Friday, May 28th Cup Series Practice (7 p.m. ET)
Sunday, May 29th Cup Series Qualifying (11:30 a.m. ET)
Sunday, May 30th Cup Series Race (6 p.m. ET)
Driver Group Game picks need to be submitted by Saturday, May 22nd at 8 a.m. ET. Just like last week, we get to see practice Friday night before out lineups need to be submitted early Saturday morning. We need to take advantage of this opportunity because it will be good to find a sleeper pick in practice so we can save some of our top drivers for other races. Practice is Friday at 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. I will try to post my picks as soon as possible after practice. I will update the picks with my starting lineup after qualifying Saturday.
The Fantasy Live and One & Done Game picks will be posted after the Xfinity Series race Saturday. (Roughly 4 p.m. ET)
The DraftKings and FanDuel picks for the Cup Series will be posted Sunday morning. I should have time Sunday morning to update the info from practice and qualifying into the model to give us an accurate prediction of how the drivers will perform Sunday.
The Race Notes from last year’s Coca-Cola 600 will be posted Monday. This will give you an idea of which drivers should be fast Sunday.
The initial Driver Rankings for the Cup Series race will be posted Tuesday, May 18th. These rankings will likely change after practice and qualifying.
The Best Bets for COTA will be posted Wednesday.

I need to wait until after qualifying before I can post the DraftKings picks for the Xfinity Series. The site awards place differential points and I cannot determine which drivers to use in the lineups until I know where they start in the race. There will be no model this week. The article will include my Core Drivers, Cash Contest picks, Single-Entry Tournament Contest picks and Multi-Entry Tournament Contest picks. The DFS Xfinity Series article will be posted after the qualifying Saturday morning (roughly 11:30 am ET)

I will not be able to include the point prediction model this week because of the tight schedule. I will include my core drivers and picks for the race.
