Fox Fantasy Auto Racing Picks for Dover

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will compete this week at Dover International Speedway. The track is not considered a short track, but it is hard to consider the Monster Mile an intermediate track as well. The high-banked concrete track produces some high speeds that really take a toll on the drivers.

The scoring format for Fox Fantasy Auto Racing rewards drivers who improve their position in the race a lot more than the drivers who lead the most laps. It will be important to select the drivers who can score position differential points this week. I recommend selecting drivers who start outside the top 10.

Jimmie Johnson has 10 wins at this track and he won from the No. 14th spot in 2015. I think he can do it again. Johnson has finished 15/30 races at Dover in the top 5.

Kevin Harvick is an excellent choice this week starting from the 18th spot. He should easily make his way into the top 10. Harvick has led 786 laps in the last five races at Dover.

Joey Logano has struggled since his wreck at Kansas but he should be able to move up 10-15 spots from his 26th starting position.

Clint Bowyer said he just missed the setup in qualifying. He is confident that he can move up from his 22nd starting spot and I agree with him. Bowyer usually runs well here when he is in a good car.

Ryan Blaney had a very fast car in race trim in practice. He finished 8th in this race last year the 18th starting position. I think he can do it again.

Here are my picks for the AAA 400….

Driver 1: Jimmie Johnson $11,300 (Starts 14th)

Driver 2: Kevin Harvick $10,800 (Starts 18th)

Driver 3: Joey Logano $10,700 (Starts 26th)

Driver 4: Clint Bowyer $9,900 (Starts 22nd)

Driver 5: Ryan Blaney $7,000 (Starts 17th)

Good luck this week!
