Fox Fantasy Auto Racing Picks for Homestead

Facebooktwitter

The final race is finally here. This should be one of the best races for the championship because of the four drivers competing for the trophy. Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski have won 17 races this season. I would be surprised if one of them did not win Sunday.

This could be the last race for Fox Fantasy Auto Racing. I worked for Fox Sports for two years. When I was released in July I was told that Fox is shutting down their Fantasy Games after the 2017 season. I heard that people have been trying to change their opinion but I have not heard anything stating whether or not the game will be back. I put my 2 cents in to keep the game because I like it. We will see what happens in February.

So far my Fox Fantasy Auto Racing picks are ranked No. 26 overall. My goal of finishing in the top 10 may be out of reach but I still have time to move up. A top-20 finish would be a successful season.

Track position at Homestead is not as important at Homestead as it was at Phoenix. The tires wear out quickly at this track so teams who short pit for fresh Goodyear’s can make up a lot of track position.

The scoring format for Fox Fantasy Auto Racing rewards drivers who improve their position in the race a lot more than the drivers who lead the most laps. You will have to take some chances with drivers who start outside the top 10 in order to post a high score but do not go crazy.

Here are my picks for the Homestead….

Driver 1: Kevin Harvick $12,300 (Starts 9th)

Driver 2: Kyle Busch $10,900 (Starts 3rd)

Driver 3: Kyle Larson $10,200 (Starts 7th)

Driver 4: Erik Jones $8,600 (Starts 14th)

Driver 5: Kasey Kahne $8,000 (Starts 27th)

Good luck this week!
