The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will compete this week at Michigan International Speedway. This will be the second trip to the Irish Hills in less than two months. The drivers who race up front in the first race should be up front Sunday.
Track position will be important this week. Seven of the drivers who finished in the top 10 in the June race at Michigan also started the race in the top 10. Last year eight of the top-10 finishers started in the top 10. The scoring format for Fox Fantasy Auto Racing rewards drivers who improve their position in the race a lot more than the drivers who lead the most laps. I am not selecting drivers who start to far back in the field since track position is so important in this race.
I know Brad Keselowski starts from the Pole but 6 of the last 9 races from Michigan have been won from the pole. He should lead 1 lap and earn a bonus point and could lead the most laps and another bonus points. I think he will win and if not… Keselowski should easily finish in the top 5.
Here are my picks for the Pure Michigan 400….
Driver 1: Kyle Larson $12,200 (Starts 9th)
Driver 2: Martin Truex Jr. $10,600 (Starts 13th)
Driver 3: Brad Keselowski $9,900 (Starts Pole)
Driver 4: Daniel Suarez $9,200 (Starts 16th)
Driver 5: Ryan Blaney $8,000 (Starts 12th)
Good luck this week!
