Richmond International Raceway is one of the hardest tracks for drivers to make their way through the field. 70% of the winners of this race have started in the top 10 and 65% of the drivers who have started in the top 10 also finished in the top 10 (in the last three races).
After researching the stats and talking to some people close to the garages I like the No. 24 car this week. Therefore I am taking out Kyle Larson (he hates this track although he won the Xfinity Series race Saturday) and inserting Chase Elliott. I am also taking out Dale Earnhardt Jr. and replacing him with Trevor Bayne. I heard that the No. 6 team did not get the tape on the grill during qualifying and that is why he starts 29th. The team feels like they have a top 10 car. I will use Bayne for position differential points.
Here are my picks for the Toyota Owners 400….
Driver 1: Chase Elliott $12,200 (Starts 14th)
Driver 2: Jimmie Johnson $11,500 (Starts 17th)
Driver 3: Denny Hamlin $10,200 (Starts 16th)
Driver 4: Austin Dillon $7,400 (Starts 38th)
Driver 5: Trevor Bayne $8,700 (Starts 29th)
