The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will compete this week at Richmond International Raceway. This is the last race before the NASCAR playoffs begin so it may get crazy Saturday night.
My Fox Fantasy Auto Racing are ranked 15th in the overall standings. My goal is to finish in the top 10 so I need to finish the season strong. My strategy for Saturday night should pay off as long as I can avoid bad luck.
Track position is important at Richmond. Nine of the drivers who finished in the top 10 in the spring race started in the top 15. It is hard for a driver who starts outside the top 20 to finish in the top 10 at Richmond.
The scoring format for Fox Fantasy Auto Racing rewards drivers who improve their position in the race a lot more than the drivers who lead the most laps. Most of my picks will be drivers who start inside the top 20 but Austin Dillon is too good to pass up from the 31st starting spot.
Here are my picks for the Richmond….
Driver 1: Kyle Busch $12,000 (Starts 7th)
Driver 2: Martin Truex Jr. $10,100 (Starts 5th)
Driver 3: Brad Keselowski $9,700 (Starts 15th)
Driver 4: Joey Logano $8,400 (Starts 12th)
Driver 5: Austin Dillon $7,700 (Starts 31st)
* I know I will get a lot of questions about Ryan Newman. His price is $11,300 and that is too much for me to spend on Newman. I have no idea why Fox Fantasy Auto Racing prices him so high each week.
Good luck this week!
