Thank you nascar.com for offering us a contest to satisfy our Fantasy NASCAR addiction. I know this is not the same as regular Fantasy NASCAR but it is better than nothing. I did send messages to DraftKings and FanDuel requesting DFS contests for the I-Races but I did not receive a response from FanDuel and DraftKings said “the races are not regulated so they cannot offer contests.” Whatever… I was just trying to help them make a profit but I guess they have enough money.
The Finish Line game (offered on the nascar.com app) is back this week. They are offering $5K to the person who can correctly select the driver who will finish the highest in each group and correctly select the winner and 2nd-place finisher in the race.
Full disclosure here…. I only started to follow the I-Racing Series two weeks ago with the race at Atlanta. I did notice that the drivers who dominate the regular series are not the same drivers who dominate the I-Racing Series. The Cup Series stars are getting better though.
Race at Bristol
The NASCAR Cup Series I-Racing Tour will compete at Bristol Motor Speedway this week. The race can be seen Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on Fox and Fox Sports 1 (some cable providers may not carry the race on both channels).
The race will have two heat races. Each of these heat races will be 50 laps and will be shown on Fox and/or Fox Sports 1. There will be no yellow flags during the heat races. The finishing order of the heat races will set the field for the main event which will be 150 laps. (I believe each driver will get one fast car repair, like last week).
The drivers scheduled to compete include: Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Clint Bowyer, Chris Buescher, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, William Byron, Landon Cassill, Ross Chastain, Matt DiBenedetto, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott, Joey Gase, Denny Hamlin, Timmy Hill, Erik Jones, Jimmie Johnson, Parker Kligerman, Bobby Labonte, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Michael McDowell, John H. Nemechek, Ryan Preece, Tyler Reddick, Garrett Smithley, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Darrell Wallace Jr.
