NASCAR One & Done Pick for Chicago

Facebooktwitter

The Cup Series will race on the streets of Chicago this weekend. This will be the second trip for the Cup Series to the road course in Chicago, but it will be the first time that we will see the pre-race activities and the celebrations that will go with this race. The race last year was pretty fun, despite the weather delays and the race being shortened because of darkness. I expect this race to be fun to watch too. The Grant Park 165 can be seen Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

This is the portion of the article where I explain how the picks did last week. I will keep it simple and say that the picks had absolutely no luck in Nashville. Ross Chastain was the pick in games where you can use a driver once. He was running second with two laps to go. Chastain finished 33rd. The practice speed and qualifying speed for Josh Berry did not translate into race speed. He struggled and finished 26th for the games that reset at the end of the regular season. Brad Keselowski was the pick in the games where you can use a driver more than once. The No. 6 car ran in the top-five in the first two Stages, but wrecked in Stage 3 and finished 25th. We really need a bounce-back race in Chicago and I will do my best to get us some good picks this week.

Here are the picks for the Grant Park 165 ….

SHANE VAN GISBERGER will be my pick in all One & Done games Sunday. SVG will be in the No. 16 car for Kaulig Racing this weekend. He is back to defend his win last year. SVG really put on a show on the streets of Chicago last year. He has a lot of experience on these types of tracks. Trackhouse Racing controls the schedule for SVG. They said that they do not plan to run him in many road courses, because they already know how good he is on these tracks. They will let him defend his trophy this weekend, so this may be our only chance to get a top-five finish from SVG.

Good luck Sunday!
