NASCAR One & Done Pick for Dover

Facebooktwitter

The NASCAR Cup Series will travel to Dover Motor Speedway this week to try and conquer the Monster Mile. We have reached race No. 21 on the schedule. That means most of the drivers who have locked up a spot in the playoffs have been used in our One & Done games. It is going to get tougher to find quality drivers for our One & Done Contests, but I have the remaining drivers matched with their best tracks. We will just need a little luck and less mechanical issues for this all to play out perfectly. The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 can be seen Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on TNT.

Here are the picks for the race in Dover…

ONE & DONE CONTESTS

This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.

CHASE ELLIOTT will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. Dover has been a good track for Elliott. He won the race in the Gen-7 car at Dover in 2022 and he finished 5th last year. Elliott has also scored Stage Points in 7 of the last 8 Stages at the Monster Mile. Elliott starts on the pole because practice was rained out. I doubt he will have a starting position like this in any of the upcoming races. I will take a chance with the Most Popular Driver at one of his best tracks.

ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)

The picks for the Regular Season / Playoff Games are rest this week. There are some One & Done Contests that reset when the playoffs start. That means you only need to use 26 Drivers for the regular season and then 10 drivers for the playoffs. We can be more aggressive in these types of One & Done Contests.

CARSON HOCEVAR will be my pick in games that reset at the end of the regular season. This rainout really screwed up my plans. I had Ryan Blaney penciled into this position, but he starts in the back. I will save Blaney for next week at Indianapolis and use Hocevar Sunday. I know he starts in the back too, but the best drivers I have left are Christopher Bell (not a good track for him), Joey Logano (not a good track for him) and Ryan Blaney (starts in the back). Hocevar finished 2nd on the concrete in Nashville. I think he can finish up front again Sunday.

ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)

There are some One & Done games that are not really “One & Done.” I play in a league where you can use a driver twice and another league where you can use a driver three times during the season. The picks posted below are for these types of contests (I am going to base these picks on being able to use a driver twice during the 2025 season).

CHASE ELLIOTT will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once during the 2025 season. I will use Elliott in this format too. Dover has been a good track for Elliott. He won the race in the Gen-7 car at Dover in 2022 and he finished 5th last year. Elliott has also scored Stage Points in 7 of the last 8 Stages at the Monster Mile. The No. 9 car has the track position to score well Sunday.
