The NASCAR Cup Series travels to the Heartland this week to compete at Kansas Speedway. After a slow start to the season, the One & Done picks have really heated up. We were able to add another win to our season total with Ty Gibbs last week and Carson Hocevar was able to score a top-10 finish and a lot of Stage Points. I will try to keep it going at my home track in Kansas.
Here are the picks for the race for the race Sunday at Kansas Speedway…
ONE & DONE CONTESTS
This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.

BUBBA WALLACE will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. Wallace has been hit or miss at Kansas Speedway, so there is some risk with this pick. He won the race at Kansas Speedway in 2022 and he finished 5th in the playoff race last year. The No. 23 car posted the fastest speed on the long-runs in practice and Wallace qualified 10th for the race. I want to use a Toyota, but I want to save the top drivers for other tracks. Kansas is a great track for Wallace, so he gets the spot.
* COREY HEIM looked really good in practice and he qualified 24th for the race. There will be many people in your One & Done leagues who will use Heim Sunday. He is scheduled for 12 races this year for 23XI Racing, including the fall race at Kansas Speedway. I am going to let Heim get some more experience in the Cup Series and use him when he returns to the track for the second time.
ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)
The picks for the Regular Season / Playoff Games are rest this week. There are some One & Done Contests that reset when the playoffs start. That means you only need to use 26 Drivers for the regular season and then 10 drivers for the playoffs. We can be more aggressive in these types of One & Done Contests.

CHRIS BUESCHER will be my pick in games that reset at the end of the regular season. I am not sure Buescher will win Sunday, but he is one of the safest picks for a top-10 finish. Buescher finished 2nd and 8th in his last two spring races at Kansas Speedway. He always seems to run better in the spring than he does in the fall in the Heartland. Buescher also finished 6th earlier this season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The No. 17 car has the speed and Buescher has the talent to finish up front in the AdventHealth 400.
ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)
There are some One & Done games that are not really “One & Done.” I play in a league where you can use a driver twice and another league where you can use a driver three times during the season. The picks posted below are for these types of contests (I am going to base these picks on being able to use a driver twice during the 2025 season).

CHRISTOPHER BELL will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once during the 2025 season. Bell is the best driver in the field who has never won at Kansas Speedway. Bell finished 2nd and 3rd in his two races at Kansas Speedway last year and he finished 4th at Las Vegas earlier this season. Bell posted the 3rd-fastest speed on the long-runs in practice and the No. 20 car qualified 11th for the race (that is only because he was in group one and the track was lacking speed). Bell has the speed, track position and the No. 1 pit crew. He should have a good chance to win Sunday.
