NASCAR One & Done Pick for Martinsville

Facebooktwitter

This is the toughest time to find a good pick for your One & Done contest. 34 races are in the books and two more races to go. That means we have used 34 drivers in the One & Done game this year and the last time I checked, there are not 34 drivers who are capable of winning races at the top level of NASCAR. The good news is that the people you are competing with are likely in a similar situation. We are going to need some luck to get top-15 finishes from out drivers this week.

ONE & DONE CONTESTS

This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.

CHASE BRISCOE will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. Briscoe was awesome at Martinsville in April. He drove the car with a broken finger and he qualified fourth, led 109 laps, scored 15 Stage Points and finished fifth. He had the highest driver rating and the best average running position in the race. Briscoe has been the third-best driver in the Gen-7 car at Martinsville (behind Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney). Briscoe finished 5th, 9th and 9th in his three races at Martinsville in the Gen-7 car. This is a good race to take a chance with Briscoe.

ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)

The picks for the Regular Season / Playoff Games are rest this week. Hopefully I was able to navigate your picks so that you were able to make the playoffs. I know some people play in games that reset their allocations for the playoffs (meaning you can use any driver you want) and others continue in the playoffs, but you still cannot use the drivers you used in the regular season. I will provide picks for both styles of games.

RYAN BLANEY will be my pick in games that reset for the playoffs.  Blaney has been one of the best drivers at Martinsville in the Gen-7 car. He finished 4th, 3rd and 7th in the three races in the Gen-7 car at Martinsville. Blaney just needs Stage Points and a top-10 finish in order to advance to the championship four. I think he will get it and he will score well for your One & Done contest.

TODD GILLILAND will be my pick in games that do not reset for the playoffs. I am not going to try and convince you that Gilliland is going to be a top-10 driver Sunday. He is the best choice I have. My other choices are Harrison Burton, Ty Dillon and Ryan Newman. I do not trust any of those drivers. Gilliland finished 13th and 25th in his two races in the Gen-7 car at Martinsville. He will probably finish around the 25th position, but he does have top-20 upside.

ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)

I play in a game where I can use a driver three times throughout the season. I know some of you have told me you can use your drivers twice. We will only need 18 drivers in these games, so we do not need to dig too deep with our picks. Here is my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once….

CHASE BRISCOE will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once. Briscoe had one of the best cars at Martinsville in the spring and he looks fast again this week. He qualified third for the race, so Briscoe has the track position to score Stage Points and finish in the top-10. I will play Briscoe in this One & Done format too.

Good luck Sunday!
