NASCAR will go back to its roots when the Cup Series races at North Wilksboro this weekend. It has been 30 years since the Cup Series had a points paying race at this iconic short track. The teams did compete in the All-Star Race at North Wilksboro last year, but the race this weekend will be different. The drivers have to make 450 perfect laps around this .625-mile, asphalt, short track. It should be fun to watch. The Window World 450 can be seen Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on TNT.
Here are the picks for the race for the race Sunday at North Wilksboro Speedway. …
ONE & DONE CONTESTS
This pick is for games where you can only use a driver once throughout the season.

CHRISTOPHER BELL will be my pick in games where you can use a driver once throughout the season. Bell started on the front, led 28 laps and went to Victory Lane at North Wilksboro last year. He also finished 2nd at Phoenix and 7th at Martinsville this year, so Bell has been good on the short tracks. The No. 20 team showed up with some speed again this weekend. Bell posted was fastest on every speed chart in practice and he starts 3rd in the race. I will take a chance with Bell and hope this is the race he finds Victory Lane.
ONE & DONE (REGULAR SEASON/PLAYOFF GAMES)
The picks for the Regular Season / Playoff Games are rest this week. There are some One & Done Contests that reset when the playoffs start. That means you only need to use 26 Drivers for the regular season and then 10 drivers for the playoffs. We can be more aggressive in these types of One & Done Contests.

JOEY LOGANO will be my pick in games that reset at the end of the regular season. Logano dominated the All-Star Race at North Wilksboro last year. The No. 22 led 139 of the 250 laps and Logano finished 2nd in the race. The most similar track to North Wilksboro on the 2026 schedule is Martinsville. Logano finished 3rd in the race at Martinsville in March. The No. 22 car has the speed to finish up front Sunday night and be a great pick for your One & Done contest.
ONE & DONE (USE A DRIVER MORE THAN ONCE)
There are some One & Done games that are not really “One & Done.” I play in a league where you can use a driver twice and another league where you can use a driver three times during the season. The picks posted below are for these types of contests (I am going to base these picks on being able to use a driver twice during the 2025 season).

JOEY LOGANO will be my pick in games where you can use a driver more than once during the 2025 season. I will use the No. 22 car in this format too. The only race that Logano dominated the field over the last two years was at North Wilksboro. I want to save my top drivers for the more predictable tracks, so I will use Logano in this format Sunday.
